For now, my answer will be short and incomplete. If God be willing, I will address the rest  later...

We all take things on faith....even if these are things based on probability. How many times have you said "I'll see you later"? How do you know you or the other person will even be here later? You take on faith that you are going to be alive tomorrow....and I hope that you will be alive tomorrow and for a very long time....but if you say we don't have to take anything on faith, how about every tome you board an airplane? Do you know your pilot. How do you know he isn't drunk? Or how do you know the airplane mechanics did not forget to tighten a lug-nut?

If we did not take things in faith every day, we'd probably never have the will to even get out of our beds.

What's with everybody using pilots to prove their point  Cheesy Cheesy

How do we know pilots are not drunk? Because there are rules and regulations in place to ensure that?! They also undergo drug and alcohol testing more regularly than the average traveller is aware.

Airplane mechanics? Erm, each aircraft has a safe life and endurance. Once the aircraft has reached its operational limit, it is scrapped. This is for the safety of the passengers. That example was poor. If an aircraft suffers from technical malfunction even though it's new - well that's normal! My computer is brand new and it restarts itself every so often...randomly! Technology breaks all the time. No surprise there.

I don't go to sleep with the faith that I'll be alive tomorrow. I go to sleep with the HOPE. If I die tomorrow, well, my time's up then. I still have the will to get out of bed and do something with my day, be it post on CEMB or go out and take my dog for a walk.

In short, Hassan said quite rightly that 'trusting' a pilot and an airline carrier is very different to placing your 'faith' in a being that, quite simply, cannot be explained. Now come on, can you honestly say "How do I know those nuts and bolts that keep the plane together exist?!"  Cheesy

Shaneequa, you use the examples you have given in order to justify faith in a God with no evidence at all.

Indeed there are reasons to believe that a plane is in good working order, or that the pilot isn't drunk. There is evidence, and we go where the evidence takes us. We believe certain things because the evidence shows us that it is the case. How you can use this to justify blind faith based on blind faith, I cannot understand. Afterall, the only reason you seem to have for your Christian beliefs is, "well, you have to believe in something!" which is an atrocious reason. Name me a single thing which atheists or agnostics believe which they base on blind faith in the absense of evidence.

Also, when I send somebody to deceive somebody, have I done something morally wrong?
And when I deceive somebody who wants to be deceived, have I done something morally wrong?
What is your justification to judge the Qur'anic Allah, and yet maintain that it is not right to judge the Biblical God? And if it isn't right to judge the Biblical God, how did you become a Christian since you must have critically assessed the Bible before you concluded that Christianity was the correct religion?

The unlived life is not worth examining.

I just got tired of your condescending tone and decided it would be more productive to talk to a pancake than to talk to you.

And your tone is quite insulting. Yet I put up with you.

If you dont like my tone, than indeed let pancake be your challenger.

    Easy target.

I suspect you have a good chance of winning against one.  yes

    Hi Rayback,

Have you always been a Muslim?

    Nope.

I started to use my brain to think and, therefore, I opened my eyes.

    I converted.

    Its the only rational way.

Atheism is absurdism. You can tell from these, and other debates.

    Alright. Agreed.

    You are a nice woman.

    You have a good boyfriend.

    Hmm...

You two remind me of the verse in the Quran:

"God decrees nice girls for nice men. And good men for good ladies."

I have corrected the typing error "too" in the above quote. Please correct it in yours.

    Anyway,

A more brutal verse on the next page said:

Bitches deserve dogs. And dogs deserve bitches.

    Sorry.

Sometimes God can say some very hard things as well.

In society we can see His decrees being fulfilled.

    I dont fear hell.

I love you because God has placed your love in my heart.

I love people for being creatures of my creator.

    We are one family.

I dont see you as different than me.

    You are me.

It pains me to see you hurt.

An example for Atheists who cannnot comprehend the above bit:

So, you yourself have not read the Quran, have you.

    That's ok.

You are relying and basing your judgement on

Did you read it with shades on or shades off.

I posted research by top German poet Goethe on a thread:

    http://www.councilofexmuslims.com/index.php?topic=5377.0

He had his shades on during his first reading of the Quran

When he took them off third time around.
Wow. Light was too brilliant for him.

Goethe bowed down before the Holy Book.

    You see,

Shades protect you against harmful ultraviolet rays from the sun.

And they make you look cool.

    However,

Shades do not protect you from making wrong and harmful assumptions about people or about God.

Yellow looks blue and red looks green.

Maybe you didnt know what fact.
