I personally don't dislike Ali Sina-he is often too harsh in his criticism of Islam & often his criticism of Islam becomes criticism of nice Muslims, yet I do see him doing a much needed service.
Loads of apostates here became apostates due to Ali Sina's FFI, some might well become familiar with Islam's darker side rather than the "all jihadis are misinterpreting their faith..." type of platitudes which politically correct papers & magazines spout. Islam's negative statements about other faiths in the Quran & hadiths are also something that kafirs, especially polytheists should be aware of.
Besides, other sites for non believers have the explicit or implicit requirement of criticizing all faiths or being branded hypocrites- I don't think its neccessary to be critical of all faiths to criticize Islam. I think its perfectly allright to find Christian schools & hospitals beneficial while criticizing jihadist attacks which kill & mutilate people & madrassas where violence against kafirs are taught.
Besides, loads of people in many parts of the world have suffered due to the actions of Islamists, or seen Islamist violence in different parts of the world on T.V. FFI & Jihad Watch does give these people a place to vent, if only online.
For example, those Armenians driven out from Turkey & the non Muslims driven out from Pak & Bangladesh might not routinely bomb like the Hamas, yet it would be very wrong if they're even deprived of their right to vent & share their sorrows!
Also, the mainstream media also often focusses on moderate Muslims to such an extent that the term Islamist or jihadi goes completely missing from their statements, like in the Mumbai Massacre, the jihadis were referred to as simply
gunmen, as if they were high school shooters!
FFI or Jihad Watch present the news from another perspective.
It really isn't very pleasant for non Muslims to hear that dastardly terrorist attacks by Islamists were
actually conspiracies, & the mainstream media, while emphasizing the feelings of Muslims, often overlooks the pain of non Muslims who have legitimate reasons to feel angry that jihadi attacks are called Government conspiracies!
Also, often history books misrepresent or negate Islam's past violent acts, like Tipu Sultan is presented as some great freedom fighter or Saladin as epitomes of tolerance-& their religious bigotry isn't mentioned at all-FFI & JW give that side of the story.
From my point of view, to be very frank, I don't find Ali Sina an Evil Incarnate, there are stuff I dislike about his approach & he often crosses limits, but thats' true for all individuals.
