I see it didn't take long for this to hit 5 pages.
How do guys feel about this?
Good.
it would label her as a slut in his eyes.
And that's bad because...?
Fellas, have you been hit on by a woman?
Yeah, a few times.
tell me about.
One time this extremely hot hostess at a restaurant I was working at (as a cook) came outside while I was on a smoke break and having a beer and said "*****, I've got something to tell you-- I've had a big crush on you for some time". I didn't waste any time in asking her to go out the following night. It felt like fuckin Christmas to me.
Did your perception of the woman change because of her directness?
Not really. I mean, if I found the girl attractive it just got me excited and horny, but if I didn't it did make me feel awkward around the girl-- but that's a risk we guys gotta run all the time.
did you feel emasculated?
What? Hell no. Everytime it happens my ego gets even bigger, are you fuckin kidding me?
did it lead to anything?
Hell fuckin yes! A girl comes on to me, even being the clueless anti-social bastard I am, I can't fuck it up. In the aforementioned example, despite many things I did which may have fucked our first date up, it led to dirty porno-style sex.
Is that only if it is a woman asking to buy a man a drink? or is it the same in reverse because I honestly never thought that when a man offered to buy me a drink it was a self esteem issue.
One time, back when I was 21, I saw this very attractive girl at the bar and I barely had enough money to buy my own drinks at the time so I said to her "I think you're very attractive and would like to buy you a drink but I'm flat broke, have no job, no car and live with my grandparents". She bought me a drink! And we started dating shortly thereafter. I told this story to my guy friends and a couple of them called me back a few days later and said "Hey, I tried that line of yours about having no money the other day and it didn't work". Incredulously I said "Of course it didn't work! It wasn't a fuckin line and it was a million to one shot that happened to pay off. Don't think I could do it again if I tried."
When it happened to me before (once by a gay man!) and I found it a complete turn off. A less direct approach was more appealing.
When I was younger gay guys hitting on me made me uncomfortable and a bit uneasy about my own sexuality, but now that I'm less homophobic I consider it quite the compliment. Not that I'm saying you're homophobic, just that I don't mind the direct route even when it's by someone of the same sex who I'm just gonna tell "I'm not gay". In fact, it's far less awkward if a gay guy does it than a woman I don't find attractive.
