It's an Indian pilaf (rice cooked in sauce with meat and sometimes vegetables) sort of like a biryani.

I hear what you're saying. You're spinning my head around.

Actually, in Greek and Turkish cuisine yahni is a stew of meat, fish, or vegetables in a browned-onion base with tomatoes and olive oil.

Tried that years ago, didn't work out.

Anyway, I found it in a "Laziza" packet and decided to buy the spice mix and make it.

ahah - you might wanna add a third less of the powder than it recommends.

Those packets are designed for leather tongues evolved after years of chilli abuse, not ones reared on organic floury potatoes.

loin pork chops with a mustard and garlic gravy served with risotto potatoes and buttered carrots.
And a pecan pie to finish.

    Fantastic meal tonight

takeaway, I don't let myself have em too often but since it's Saturday.

A "Mexican" style kebab, which is donner kebab on a large Turkish lefah bread, with some kind of mexican spicy sauce, 3 types of cheese (red leicester, mozarella and sharp chedder) with salad and jalapegnos on top.

With my favourite drink on the side-Cobra beer.

I hear what you're saying. You're spinning my head around.

    Black Forest Gataeux?! Good luck!

So what is a 4 course meal? Starter, Fish Main, Main and Dessert?

We're having lamb leg steaks with a homemade real mint and butter sauce, boiled baby new potatoes and steamed Chantenay carrots.

I love desi food. Btw what is desi? Can I say Indian food? Will that cover the entire area? It's rude to say Paki food. Curry food doesn't cover everything.
