You could also be just above average intelligence but be at the right place at the right time, and also have extreme luck on your side.  I am yet to see anything new and innovative that would point to either of them being geniuses, most of their ideas were copied from others.

I think in this day and age if Mo made the same proclamation to the same audience, he would be seeing a whole load of middle fingers!

There is absolutely no doubting that their environments were just right for them, but it still requires a certain type of character and leadership to achieve what they did. When I was talking about their intelligence, I was not talking about their ideas as much as I was talking about how their ideas were implemented.

I think it points more to the desperation and stupidity of people in large numbers that did all the work for him - he never even got the Quran onto paper and could have easily died out and message obliterated had not Uthman had the presence of mind to collect all those camel shoulder bones!

Just think of all the agony we would have saved ourselves if Uthman didn't bother and fed those shoulder blades to the dogs!

I have always blamed/credited Uthman for really getting Islam far away from the starting post, not Mo.  Mo just wanted to get laid  Wink

100% correct. Muhammad was a clever man, so he could pull off prophethood. But I have to admit, at times, he does not seem like a liar. But he was not sent by God, thats what I think.
