    I would gladly reference MEMRI TV even for a phd thesis. They have proven themselves to be a very credible media watchdog group.  Smiley

    I used to admire Zandani (when I was a Muslim of course) until he pulled the "I have a cure for AIDS I got from a hadith but I will not give it to you unless..." crap.

I was a hardcore Muslim that time and when I heard what is supposed to be human voices, I was like who the fuck is that guy supposed to convince.

    Oh regarding MEMRI is not credible argument, well, MEMRI is a Zionist propaganda. But that doesn't make the videos any less credible. In fact, their translations are top notch.

    And the quality of the translations is the only thing that matters. It's totally irrelevent if MEMRI are jews who drink the blood of musulmans for passover - it doesn't change the accuracy of their tranlations.

    No it wasnt, you could argue that was the result, but certainly not he intention - obviously I cant speak on his behalf,  perhaps its more relevent to address this point to the poster to get the answer?

    No, if you watch the video there are no outlandish claims made from a Muslim perspective, so I am happy to use my intuition and take it at its face value, particularly like I say that its unimportant in any case.

    Now if you think my intuition is wrong your was right then lets prove it, lets have a neutral arabic speaker translate it.  Do you accept this challenge (NB: neither of us knows the results, so you may be actually right and my intution is wrong)

    There is no challenge. You said you know the translation is accurate. And you don't even speak the language.

    Would you disregard the scientific and technological breakthroughs made by Nazi Germany? Simply because it was made/found in Nazi Germany? I'm not talking about some crazy Nazi experiment, but actual Science, that is either still used today or helped push Science forward.

    What if you were a scientist? Would you disregard the material (scientific research and data) because of the source? Again, we're talking real science here, and accurate science.

    I am well aware that you hadn't really forgotten. I was using the word in the euphemistic sense. I also do not miss what you consider the irony. However, you appear to be missing the point that is really relevant: is the translation accurate or not?

    This is not the only point of contention. You are attempting to ignore everyone else's point and acting as if your preferred point du jour was the only one allowed in the thread. It doesn't work like that. If you say "MEMRI is Israeli propaganda but hey, their translations are usually spot on" then what that means is that regardless of how you happen to feel about MEMRI they are usually a reliable source as far as reporting the content from Arabic TV.

    I was not 'thinking', or coming to any hard found conclusions after watching it - I was just having enjoying it (before you turned up) and having a laugh at this Sheikhs expense.  If you still believe it was a mistranslation, even after seeing other videos of him, then lets take your claim forward to prove it.

    So what you are effectively saying is that you regard MEMRI as a reliable source. After all, if they are accurate then that means their presentations are reliable.

    Being Likkudniks doesn't affect the accuracy of their translations.  I've watched a lot of their videos, and even as a Muslim, I could not dispute the fact that they translation they provide at the bottom of the screen matches the shit that comes streaming out of these guys' mouths.

    As a good Muslim, back in the day, I learned all about MEMRI so that I could use the political background of the founders to distract others from the material that was being presented.  You know, since I could not deny that these were Muslims saying all of this shit, and discuss it in an honest way, since I had to show walaa wa baraa to those motherfuckers and "defend the ummah" by hiding my brothers' faults.
