Okay.....are there any fossils of the common ancestor, or of the transitions?
In the animal kingdom, for classification purposes we are called apes, even by theist biologists. Its stands to good reason, afterall would you prefer to put us in the bird category, or the insect one or another one of your choosing?
I think your confusion lies in that we regularly call species from the monkey kingdom as apes. Its just a word used to group a set of living species into groups.. like boy & girl, or canadian or american..
