    Cheesy

Btw I think there should be a footer at the bottom of the layout saying 'Copyright whatever'

I think that the admin of the site should have the ability to add multiple authors to the site, each with his own username/password, so they can login and see/edit the questions that they've added and to add new ones, etc.

    Copyrighted by Allah himself Tongue

While the layout is being sorted out I think everyone else here could start coming up with more Q/As for the site. I'll start a separate thread strictly for Q/A suggestions, you can use this thread to discuss whatever. This way I can find the suggestions easily when the site is ready without have to wade through several pages.

I guess in the begining, there should be only one Admin for the site. Peru or Kaff. We all contribute through COEM forums untill it is alive and kicking!

The website should exclusively be administrated by atheists, agnostics, not deists and theists.
  • Re: Project for CEMB forum. AskAllah Website
     Reply #135 - January 05, 2010, 11:19 AM

I think anyone who doesn't believe in Allah is capable of administrating the site. I don't see why it should be limited to Atheists/Agnostics only.

For those who understand, no explanation is necessary. For those who refuse to understand, no explanation is possible.

Another cool idea that I can contribute to regularly is to have a "News" section of the Ask-Allah site. Basically it will be Allah's spiteful commentary on any latest major terrorist act, natural disaster or applications of sharia law. He can eloquently state his justifications and tell people to shut the fuck up and take it.

One step at a time Kafirist Wink We need someone to regularly update and you don't want to bite more then you can chew otherwise the site will just die. I'm nearly done with the layout now.

Also you want to be careful that this doesn't turn into an angry, hate site. Keep the comedy light, silly and satirical, not angry yes

If any of you have good photoshop experience an easy but funny thing to do would be to imprint "Allah" signs into random but islamically innappropriate objects. You know, dildos, ass cheeks, urinals, dirty floors, synagogues.. etc.  dance grin12

Reading thru both threads I think there definitely needs to be a "woman's issues" section and then one of the "great women of Islam" can be the answerer. I know the obvious answer is Aishah, but it doesn't have to be.  Khadijah. Fatimah would be a good choice, maybe.  And then to enter the section, there should be a splash page or something that says this is only for sisters, men should fear allah, etc and then you click a button that says "are you a sister? you are? okay then" or something that illustrates how people get so hysterical about this particular issue of segregation, ramming down throats, but then also shows how often these "private" things are terribly accessible to anyone.  Or clicking the "no, i'm a man" button could take the person out to some really funny website or parody site or something.

    lol that's a fantastic idea!

Women's issues in Islam is definitely a must for the site to parody. Heck the first Q&A Blackdog did was precisely about that.

Another idea I had concerns formatting.  If you've read these fatwa sites they have a template that they work from as far as answers.  Oh no wait, that's the proper adab for everything.   Roll Eyes  The required formulas.  You know a fatwa starts out with the basmala, and then alhamdolillah, and then maybe a few verses (not required) and then it always ends with allahu alim, and maybe salam on Momeister.

So Ask-Allah should say, at the start of a response

In The Name of Me, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate (or "In My Name...")

All praise is due to me

    Big Al's answer text here

    and at the end

    And I know best.

And then any quran that refers to allah by his name or as "him" could be written to have allah referring to himself, although Big Al refers to himself as "I" or "We" so many times, it might not register with people save those who know the quran very well that this is what has been done.

Or we could have at the top left of the site, in small italics as  method of introducing the site

In The Name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate

and at the bottom right at the end

All praise is due to me as I know best.

perhaps repeated on each page along with banner..

I like the idea Manat! Afro

IsLame, we could replace 'Welcome to Ask Allah' with "In The Name of Me, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate." That would be a good place to put it.

In fact I think we should stick to the theme of using "I" and "me" throughout the site - with the exceptions of a few articles that will be authored by Mo or Jibreel. The rest will be Allah's work, so we'll have tabs/menus like "My miracles" for the images, and "Whats happening" for Allah's latest news and atrocities etc.
