    MJ Cole is my favourite garage musician.  The man knows his jazz and soul and composes some of the most beautiful tunes in the genre.

    Jools Holland is the David Attenborough of music.  Along with Gilles Peterson, he opened me up to many artists and styles as I grew up following their shows.

    I love that pizzicato too.  After (the classically-trained) Cole did that, so many other producers started incorporating it into their tunes, sometimes to the point of overkill.  I also love it when he goes full-on orchestral over his 2-step beats:

    Music emphasising bass weight, I suppose. I want to say the AFX/Autechre contingent, breakcore, the UK house and Techno, hard trance, acid and squat scenes, but that'll convolute matters, I think.

    I've not really seen that much breakcore or fringe genres like that. A lot of it is too indulgent and undanceable for me. I'll occasionally give it a try at a festival or something if nothing else is on or we just can't be bothered to move. Some of it is interesting. I'm not even that fond of AFX live. I know, I'm a philistine.

    House, techno, trance, acid; too many to list.

    Probably too many for you to list though. My favourite nights have been:
    Source Direct, Doc Scott and Trace.
    Shackleton and Horsepower productions.
    dBridge B2b Loxy 5 hour set.
    Pangaea, Ben UFO and Pearson Sound.
    Pinch and Kode 9.
    Some random AWOL night with randall and Darren J I think.

    I'm not even going to go into techno, industrial and IDM.

    Yeah, too many to list. Pretty much everyone contemporary to me who I've wanted to see. There's a few American DJs I'd really like to see, but as far as UK goes I've already done the rounds.

    The legendary DJ DB. Dunno if he's still gigging. He's British born, so that's not technically sacrilege.

    My main transgression is Dieselboy. I wish he would tour Europe more often. He's one of my fave dnb djs and has done some fantastic podcasts and mixes.
