Top tune. They also made Security Overload which isn't as wacky and drugged up, imho.

And now for something well snakey:

These are eight of the top ten tunes that make up the ninties clubbing scene for me, I wish I could include fifty but ten, category 90's club music. There aretwo more tunes, got to find them, remember the titles and artist, one of them is the woman in the harlequin catsuit and the jerry-curled guitarist saying , and ? have been known to smoke, on stage that is.

The tenth is a woman white English, cheap video, she has braided.dreadlocked hair, firworks are going off in the sky, she is singing, body through the sunroof.

These ten would get people on the dancefloor, I don't care who they are.

I am my own worst enemy and best friend, itsa bit of a squeeze in a three-quarter bed, tho. Unhinged!? If I was a dog I would be having kittens, that is unhinged. Footloose n fancy free, forced to fit, fated to fly. One or 2 words, 3 and 3/thirds, looking comely but lonely, till I made them homely.D

    remembered one of them

    Groove is in the Heart
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=etviGf1uWlg

Only one more to go, honourable mentions so far to Moloko.

I have only ever took one E pill, December 23rd 1996, Ministry of Sound (met my model girlfriend who I had dumped six months previous, perchance, never seen her since, I was out with mates)

Man/ boy/grandfather when I E dropped WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW, I just wanted to stand on the ramp feel the vibrations from the floor, just standing next to a girl was ecstasy, looking at the club dncers on the bar, the bass...my ears were ringing for two whole days, I would be eating food and my chewing would be playing out a tune, similar with my footsteps (shit I just remembered what tune in particular) and I have chosen my ten aaaggghhhhh

Anyways that line up above, dare you not to dance.

We have a latecomer who is gonna absolutely gatecrash this party.

Though released as a single in 2000, I think at heart/soul it was a 90's tune. It was/is that good. And For any last minute doubts, it was, to all intent and purposes, the signature/opening scene in Blade, you know when the blood gushes from the sprinklers. (19fucking98)

I think HD means High Definition, you to me are like 3 wait for it 3D. Multi-dimensional. Hmm, I really am not bitter, que sera sera. Take my friend who married my iwannaher friend, why am I not bitter? Because I used to see the convert with another girl, the girl who I did go out with, the girl who actually liked me. Last girlfriend before the birth of my daughter.  She recently split up with her boyfriend and in direct contrast to the convert pursued a career which saw te pinnacle as a wriggle your bits girl on those stations that men ring into nubile girls. Her message to meet up is still on my ansaphone, four weeks, not bothered to ring back, what does it mean? I am too lazy to pursue, idk?

Well if Allah was mate we would be able to sort out all the if-only

It's all subjective ennit? Better to have your own opinion then those of their peers, makes you an individual. I am never ever surprised at what people enjoy. there is a moment for everything noise in made in anger/purpose on earth, I am gearing up to put my heavy/metal selection soon, so there is a moment for everything.

Schizo, you do know that experiment, famous, but enough for me to remember write now and I hate googling whilst on forum. Anyways a psychologist draws an experiment where six people are chosen as guinea pigs, but ONLY ONE of them is under experimentation.

The prof shows the group iirc a piece of card with different lengths of lines drawn on them. Lines Mmmm. The ONE gets asked last, all others signify which line on the card corresponds to the lines on a card in front of them.

We can see that for example it is clearly not A,C,E or D but C.

All five answer the same but it is anything but C.

The sixth or in our case, the ONE, knows what his eyes are seeing but instead goes along with his peers and registers the same answer as them, the wrong answer.

People like going with the grain, sheeples as some might say, groupthink, call it what you like.

His new stuff is not jungle, so that's probably why a lot of junglists don't like it. I like some of it new stuff though. Reminds me of Lostep.

It is what it is. Low key 'side project' music is never gonna be as good as his stuff during his prime. But if it's any consolation, his upcoming album is apparently jungle.

Actually this was at a techno night, so we're talking about junglists who gravitated away from drum and bass/lost interest as it became more institutionalised/less experimental, or people who have always been of more of a disparate persuasion where jungle serves as an adjunct.

I Was (obviously) far too young to go to jungle nights back in the day but I've always wondered where the majority of experimental junglists gravitated to. I mean, techno/IDM/Noise/Industrial (as a scene) has remained techno since its inception, and some of the people I meet at techno nights have done the whole lost/the orbit/house of God scene — when it was de rigueur for a club to pack in a thousand people or so. The core contingent has remained, as it were. But there was a tipping point with jungle around 97/98 where garage usurped its position, and then grime/dubstep, and then funky, and now. Well I don't know. I guess Simon Reynolds' thesis is starting to lose validity, given the 10 billion poststructural contours of 2013 UK soundsystem music.

I'm surprised you don't, given some of the stuff you do enjoy.

Yeah, preconceptions, I would surmise. Whenever I'm in a photek mood I seem to want to roll a skunk spliff or snort a line of well gnarly amphetamine. I mean, someone had to make drum and bass sound so technical, precise, inhuman and cold. But that's a revolution in its own right, where the absence of personality leads to the disintegration of a big other fantasy of music having to be soulful/slick, or rude (even). Funnily enough I don't think people like Photek, Source Direct et al were consciously seeking to alienate/elevate people with their music, in comparison to say, Autechre, AFX or Square. I really like the fact that during the early-to-mid 90s you had potentially subversive/avant garde music an inch away from the mainstream. Today noone seems to have that cultural kick anymore — I mean, someone needs to tell the kids that Rihanna is just horrible prepubescent pop music. Not even good pop. I could not imagine LFO - LFO hitting the charts in 2013, for instance. Naivete/fetishisation of some cheap broken synth or sampler is what I'm looking for, I guess. And that is only to be found in consciously experimental undercurrents, not an inch away from the mainstream. Which is sad, I suppose, as we'll have no radical youth generation defining the future of art terrorism.

I must have touched a nerve. And now ishina has to decide to tl;dr, though I recommend Ishina reads it, I like the clever use of parenthesis and forward slashes, adds rhythm. Full of substance, at one stage I thought I was at the dentist and picked up one of those trade magazines that sells bang olufsen merchandise and this was the only piece they actually spent money on and worth reading. Bravo. I salute you sir.

I've never really put much thought to it. As long as there's a good DJ, a decent sound system and an atmosphere, I'm in my element. Like a pig in shit. After a few drinks it's less about the tunes more about that night's particular antics. If you're out with a good set of mates keeping each other up, any soundtrack will do. The mood travels with you. We used to go wherever was open, see whatever was on, end up where we ended up.

Y'know, back before extended licenses when the clubs used to close at 2am, we'd always end up in Jilly's rock world. That place was open until 6-7am. Great crowd there. Punks, goths, biker types, grunge kids, before the smoking ban and before emo started dominating. We'd rave to industrial metal or go mental in the mosh room just to squeeze a few more hours out of the night, then jump on the early train back home (or sometimes even to work). Good times. Damn shame that place closed down.

Yeah, preconceptions, I would surmise. Whenever I'm in a photek mood I seem to want to roll a skunk spliff or snort a line of well gnarly amphetamine. Well, Source Direct were just a couple of kids. I think they probably just wanted to make cool sounds. And since they were uniquely gifted little bastards, ended up creating something truly brilliant. Often these things arise naturally, organically, without any conscious plan. Contrivance can be an art killer.

    Schizo

You're the sort of fella, I would love to chat over the phone to.

Nitzer Ebb — Join In The Chant (Surgeon mix)

Perfect remix that fits nicely into a faster techno set.

Jeff Mills — Berlin (Mills mix)

6AM, sweaty techno night, can bearly move, this gets dropped. It's like being recharged on amphetamines for the journey back home.

Nice. Thanks! I was listening to Nitzer in middle school. I was the only one. I even named one of my pets Nitzer.
