After this ban, I think Muslims in France are perfectly justified to claim they are being unfairly targeted which will no doubt lead to them falling more in line within their own community and refusing to integrate into mainstream as self protection.
The ordinary majority did not want those things to be imported, they were simply ignored by the ruling elite that looked down upon them and their own culture. Flirting with the far right is the inevitable result.
It is the people who elect the Government. The actions of a Government is a representation of them.
