LOL, I remember this shit when I was young. It happened in Yemen as well.
I was quite young and gullible, but managed to see the bullshit behind the Pokemon "Controversy", if you could call it that.
I mean the points Moe mentioned were the smartest thing they came up with. What was mainstream was some leaflets listing the names of some Pokemons claiming they mean blasphemous stuff like "There is no God" in the [Insert a language that doesn't exist] language or some shit like that. I was really pissed off that people actually bought into this crap. There was this time when I was ~13 (Few years after the controversy) I bought some Pokemon video games (They were awesome) and my uncle saw it, he said "Do you know Pokemon is haram" I wanted to punch him that time.
lol, Pokemon is shirk then. I guess that means playing with pokemon cards is worse than murder and rape and zina, because it shirk, what the fuck kind of bullshit is that
and yes, they know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about other religions....The level of oppression over there is just beyond imagination
And for those who travel abroad, they're reminded of some hadith or quranic verse, I forgot which one it is (maybe someone else knows), but it basically says to not hear what non-muslims have to say, lest you become seduced by their words and stuff... you get the idea... That's why no one there learns about the outside world.
Well I heard in Saudi archaeology and philosophy is banned as well. By the way, did you ever see a sermon from those big sheikhs like Sheikh Sudais or Shuraim? I heard they give khutbahs in Mecca. Do you remember?
