Hardcore religious indoctrination = child abuse? A very uncomfortable question for many.

I think it is child abuse. An acceptable form of mental child abuse that is.

Good video. Makes me appreciate the Internet.

How can non-consensual abuse ever be acceptable?

Is it actually true that the internet is causing a decline in religion?

I would guess so, but I think it would be impossible to measure empirically.

Religion have traditionally enabled cultural barriers to criticism.  In fact yesterday I was told by a muslim that I am not allowed to criticise Islam.

The internet is new, outside of these norms & controls, and has not evoled a method to cope with the critical spotlight.  Like the dinosaurs in the presence of extreme cold, something new will evolve, something far more robust than 'faith'

It should work like that in principle, but there's the tendency to use the internet as oedipalized nodes. i.e someone could just read Islamopedia, Islamictube, muxlim.com etc.. I don't think most people do much on the internet if they've got something better to do. The tendency is to use it as a space of consumption, more than anything else - certainly every effort is being to enforce that trend.

That is a good video dear Hassan..

That fellow., That ROGUE Mr. Michael Travesser  Aka Scoundrel Wayne Bent, born on  May 18, 1941 is as good as any cult leader INCLUDING Mr. Muhammad Prophet of Islam

It is unfortunate that the followers of these ROGUES do not realize until they became completely useless and zombies for these cults leaders

Do not let silence become your legacy.. Question everything

the beloved betrayed me and turned in to  a Muslim

Not allowed to view those vids in UK Yeezee - but yes that guy made my stomach turn the way he had manipulated those girls - it is the typical template of a founder of a religion cult.

Oops, I mean to say it's acceptable by the masses. Not just for God, but simply Santa, monsters, etc. Funny how Santa is almost a God ("If you be good you'll get a reward ...").

You get a lump of coal if your bad.  Pretty Much Santa is God but not on an eternal, earth creating scale.  Good video.  It is true though, in the whole room of religion there is only a little tiny corner in which open questions are allowed to be asked and those questions aren't allowed to get out of that corner or else you are questioning the faith.

It is pretty early to know exactly what effect the internet will have on religion, but if past experiences with open source technology ( such as the printing press) are an indication then it will overall be a boon to critical thinking.

So once again I'm left with the classic Irish man's dilemma, do I eat the potato or do I let it ferment so I can drink it later?

Because the web is not tangible, it's not going to win over any of the 'faithful', however precisely for that reason the internet is a beautiful thing for doubting theists. Because it's relatively easy to detach your self from the people and content of the web religious moderates who otherwise wouldn't muddle into inquiring their faith, now find an avenue to do so. And as with anything else that's to do with technology this rate of conversion will probably carry a snowball effect and be exponential.

Yep, religion spread by being suited for the times they came out in.  They have not been adapted with defence strategies for anonymous insider & outsider attacks on logical & critical thinking via the internet.  Before they would have just eliminated or even killed such dissenters.
