    That miriam woman was infuriating! I can't believe she tried to claim that it was wrong that those women in Malaysia were lashed and then came unstuck when the Iranian woman questioned her on what the sharia punishment for adultery is!

    The Iranian Muslim was spot on when saying that there is a difference between being a Muslim minority in the west and Islamic governments in Islamic countries.

    Also, I think there are a number of candidates for the new shahada. There's the "taking it out of context", there is also "how could Muhammad have known this 1400 years ago" and the one mehdi Hassan used; "don't judge Islam by it's followers". All pretty crap defences if you ask me!

    In that case how exactly is one supposed to judge Islam or any religion for that matter?
    It's like Islam is an entity in a vacuum that  has no true productive identity.

    Two things with the 'don't judge Islam by its followers' fallacy

    (1) Its a rhetorical trick to construct a pure Islam that has been tainted by humans and ringfence criticism.

    (2) Its stupid - Muslims claim Islam has discernible, causative, direct effects on human behaviour, that is why they do dawah and try to convert people. So they claim Islam can be judged by the beahviour of Muslims when something 'good' happens, but not when something 'bad' happens.


    Oh yeah, and that statement was made by Mehdi Hassan, a true creep, who says one thing in front of kuffars, and then behind their back calls all non Muslims as animals with no intelligence. Its just another piece of bullshit rhetoric and dawah by him and other apologists for Islam, trying to put the entire world on the back foot, wag his finger and try to make them feel guilty. Because of the duplicity of people like him though, its not working as much as it used to.

    He is a good man dear BlackDog., he and every one on this earth  must  have freedom freely to express his/their  opinions  freely.     When Nicki Campbell quoted half of verse 4:34 about men being the maintainers of women, I wish he'd carried it on to mention the bit which instructs a man to beat his wife.  I wonder what answer Miriam would've given to that.

    Yeah. I felt it was deliberate. I mean when anybody refers to that verse they almost always continue to mention the "hit them" part. It was a lost opportunity.

    You're probably right, its daytime TV.  Discussing the Quran properly, with all of Mo's activities, could only be discussed on an XXX-rated channel.
