Yeah I know, even if I am 100% sober, the alcohol level in my blood is high. It was a mistake that I will never do again.   Smiley

I don't wanna get kicked out of the course for something silly Tongue

Is Whole Foods non-union there too? If so-- shame!

Not sure about over here. I think most of the supermarkets here begrudingly accept union activity to some extent. Waitrose (one of the big supermarkets here) parent John Lewis is a workers co-op and I think "the Co-Op" (another big supermarket over here) which recently bought out Somerfield (another major supermarket) is a consumer co-op.

The other day I was at a party/"hive" and I had 8 pints of beer, a pint of cider, a rum and coke, and one Sambuca shot all in a period of about 4 hours. I even won a beer drinking contest and was the first one on the ground. By the end of it, I was still pretty sober and I even drove home.  mysmilie_977

All of my mates, even the certified Guinness/Whisky guzzler from Ireland was like "WTF Mohammed !"

People think I am showing off but I am not. This is really not good. I wish I could get drunk as easily as normal people do.

Anyway, I have done a decent amount of work today at the uni library and I don't have class tomorrow until 2 pm. I will be home in an hour and I intend to make love to the half bottle of Irish whisky I have in my room. I will give you updates

Well that is about 5 units of alcohol every hour. It takes about an hour for the liver to process 1 unit of alcohol so at any rate you had no more then 5 - 6 units of alcohol in your body of the space of 4 hours. I don't know what others found so surprising about that. It would be like drinking a quarter of a vodka in under a hour, and even I can do that.

In any case, your blood alcohol level through the space of 4 hours was about 75mg, so you drove drunk, twice over the legal limit. 100mg of blood alcohol and it is an automatic 3 year ban, fine and a depending on the circumstances possibly a 3 three month custodial sentence.

    I'm not following.
First you said "that is about 5 units of alcohol every hour" --> where did you get this from? what is a "unit" of alcohol?
Then you said "It takes about an hour for the liver to process 1 unit of alcohol" --> so my liver processed 4 units? does that mean only 1 remained?
Then "so at any rate you had no more then 5 - 6 units of alcohol in your body of the space of 4 hours" --> how does this add up to the above two statements ?  wacko

"I don't know what others found so surprising about that." --> well everybody was dancing and shouting and singing but I wasn't !

Firstly, like I said it was a mistake and I am not gonna do it again. I'm never taking the car on a night out from now on. Except maybe when I'm going to watch a movie alone.

Secondly, I was not intoxicated, my mental and comprehensive abilities were unaffected. I was sober.

Ive heard this too, and its become my measure when I go out.  Ive got an electronic tester too, that I check before I drive.

It means that you can't "undrunk" yourself.  No matter the cold shower, trying to focus, etc  the rate at which you sober up remains constant.

So once again I'm left with the classic Irish man's dilemma, do I eat the potato or do I let it ferment so I can drink it later?

I'm fucking drunk man... too many jagerbombs and whisky shots.

Eating coco pops is useful to me right now. Has anyone else tried coco pops to help curb drunkedness?

    Whisky is good Afro

Never tried coco pops to soak up alcohol, although I suppose any carb-based snack would do. Why would you want to get less drunk though, if you have a good buzz going?

It kind of works. I needed to get less drunk so I could brush my teeth, I'm very OCD about brushing my teeth. Didn't really enjoy the whisky tbh, it was my first time drinking it, but I was remarkably disappointed.  Cry

I wish to state for the record that I was referring to the breakfast cereal Coco Pops and have never, to my knowledge, eaten, nor have I tried to eat, the poster/artist formally known as CocoPop.  Afro

We can work around that. Repeat after me: "la ilaha illalah muhammad ar-rasool allah". Okay, now say "I hereby denounce everything Islam says and wish to dedicate my life to enjoying kinky coco pops sex with Eliphaz". Done!   grin12
