Yeee, urmm, stick a load of stuff like that under your mattress so that when you go back to bed in the morning you stick your hand under it to get the food snaffle a little then stuff the wrapper back under the matress, when going out put in in wallet and throw it away in a public bin. For those in fining countries, I would hide it in the bottom of my wardrobe and throw the wrappers down the back of the wardrobe.

But then one would get crumbs all over their bed and it would smell and attract ants and before you know it one is busted and then ... and then ... beatings of a lifetime 040

PS: Just kidding, appreciate your inputs though Lilyesque! Definitely interesting strategies.

I don't mind fasting that much, but taraweeh is unbearable.

I just end up leaving to play basketball with other kids.

My Mom scares me sometime, she notices everything. She noticed if my prayer mat hasn't moved (so I move it around every once in a while) and she notices if my feet aren't wet if I come out of the toilet before prayer, meaning that I didn't do wudu (so I started to wear fluffy slipper which I can blame). And somehow she knows if I've eaten something as a snack before dinner (I hide it pretty well).

    Same here!  Smiley

If you live in a non-Muslim country, specially in the West, it is very easy to find food during the month of Ramadan. Go to any restuarant outside your neighbourhood, who is going to know? If you cannot afford to eat in a restaurant you can always buy snacks or fruit from a grocery store. An apple a day keeps the doctor away!

If you have many non-Muslim friends, find a way to get invited in their homes. Or just drop in at a meal time Tongue If you have a non-Muslim boyfriend or a girlfriend, that should be very easy. One good reason to be nice to his or her parents.

You can always go to a Sikh temple during lunch time. They serve delicious vegetarian food and it's all free. They never ask you about your religion - I have been to Sikh temples just to eat. You can go to a Hindu temple too. Just go few minutes before the service ends. Usually they serve a full lunch after the service, it's all free. Hare Krishna temples are the best on Sunday for evening dinner. Bon-apetit and enjoy.

Argh Ramadan is so annoying!!!!  I get so pissed off when I hear the tedious adhan in my household blaring out of the stupid religious TV channels, and the sermons where they chat absolute shit, and I feel so stupid waking up for sehri!

haha lemme guess the stupid paki channels like GEO and ARY with Aamir Liaqat lol ? listening to that bullshit just increases my blood pressure like crazy!

Being seen eating in Kuwait would result in a max of 100 KD (about $400) fine and/or one month in prison.

no way ?!?! can they really do that ? what about the non muslims there ?

Ahhhhh. At last Ramadan! We meet again! This will be my first Ramadan as an infidel as well, and my mom always seems to know when I do anything in this house, even when she's at work (!), not to mention my metabloism, which only lets me eat 4 or 5 small meals a day. So I don't know exactly how I'm going to dodge this one. I've always hated Ramadan, and I ate crackers in school, but now I go to school online, so that's out the window! And we've been having a really hot summer. I guess I'll be heading to the Taco Bell near by Wink. Not looking forward to Tarawih either, really booooooooooring.

Of course, I don't really have a job, so I'll be scraping for money during the month of charity...

Go to the doc with that, if you have a thyroid prob, that is your ticket out, you have a reason not to fast.

I've always been like that; small meals, several times a day. I can't eat big meeals, so suhur never filled me up and fasting was always hard. No problem with my thyroid—dare I say unfortunately?

No, not really. I do like to walk and bike around town a bit, but nothing really strenuous.

I'd love to see the stats between Ramadan and productivity at a macro level. Concentration: down. Metabolism: down. Frustration & stress: Up. Exercise and working out: Down. Hunger pains: Up. Dehydration: Up. Time lost in relaxing & leisure: Up. Therefore as a consequence, overall productivity of a nation: Down. Big time. I think.

Oki, not like my friend, she is on the roof most of the day mood wide, very very hyper and has meals throughout the day but they are huge ones, she is skinny as heck.

One good thing is that I gave up praying a few years ago, mum did nag about it for a while, but she doesn't anymore, only occasionally she may mention prayer, but no nagging. Smiley

My prayers have been waning since I was 10, and I haven't really prayed (i.e. I just faked it when I was told to pray by my mom) since I was about 12.

I never prayed (tried to be religious a couple of times and pray, but that's it), only that Tarawee one during Ramadan that mum would nag/force us into doing.

ETA: And prayed when mum would be forceful about it, usually during the ramadan month and mostly I'd pretend to be praying.

My mum reminds me for Magrib when I'm in, then I lie I'll pray, and it's all good. Honesty is the best policy ... to a certain extent.

Oh, I had to go through shit. My dad used to ground me for a weekend every time I missed a prayer at the mosque till I left for university. I even managed to fast the first year or two after apostatizing. I think it was 'cause I felt really guilty to celebrate Eid without fasting... or something... I don't even remember, really. I somehow managed to block that part of my life out of my head. wacko
