    Its my right to "think" that im a medical doctor. i can even walk around my house with a name tag that says "dr digdug" and hold a clipboard.

    But if I goto a restaurant and there is an actual medical emergency and i say "everyone stand back im a doctor" - thats where we have a fucking problem.

    You are honestly the only Muslim I have ever heard of that believes the Quran we have today was compiled during the prophets lifetime.  Go and do some research, or at least ask the other muslim members here.

    Why dont you start a new religion?  Call it Rasheedul Islam or something?

    We have sent it down as an Arabic Qur'an, in order that ye may learn wisdom. 12:2 (there are a handful of similar verses)

    how many english translations are there of the quran?

    I happen to be a publisher and an author.  I publish books in which it happens to be very important what order the chapters come in.  Having read the Qur'an I do not think it is that type of book.  It repeats the basic message at several points making it irrelevant what order the Surahs are arranged in.  It is not a book designed with a linear focus like "In the beginning... from this point to that point" or "Once upon a time... and they lived happily ever after.  The End."  Since the Qur'an ISN'T that kind of book, why attempt to hold it to a category that it is not in?

    As a starting point, I just want him to see that ordinary Arabs have got their fingerprints on the Quran.  

    Once that 100% authentic illusion is broken down, then the rest starts to dismantle stone by stone, brick by brick, then once a wall is down the whole thing comes crashing down.

    By DEFINITION it was only those peoples' opinion and NOT "fact."  

    "Muslim sources" did not mean "completely irrefutable fact" it meant "the opinions of some Muslims who lived 200 years after the events in question."

    If they were "facts" then there wouldn't be "weak and strong" hadith would there?
