    Well let me start off by saying I have been wearing a scarf since ii was about 5,6, or 7 years old. I still wear it now tho, bcuz family still doesnt kno about me and my experience with religion.

    Anyway, my first experience was a few months back, around March, or February, ii cant remember.
    I finished my classes in skool and decided to leave and go to another city. I went to one that was about 10-15 minutes away. I took it off and walked around a neighborhood.

    IT FELT SOO FREE!!!!!!!!              IT FELT SOO FREE!!!!!!!!           IT FELT SOO FREE!!!!!!!!        IT FELT SOO FREE!!!!!!!!    IT FELT SOO FREE!!!!!!!!
    I have never felt so lik myself. I went to burger king, and everyone was nice to me.
    No one gave me hostile looks, or made me feel uncomfortable lik how it would b if ii was wearing a scarf.

    && I FINALLY FELT THE WIND BLOW MY HAIR!!!!!

    It was only about 15 minutes, after that ii had to put it bak on and go bak to skool.

    I want to experience that feeling again.. it felt so like me. I felt ii was finally able to be myself...

    I know how freedom feels...

    Congrats Hanan! I remember how it felt when I finally stopped wearing it, thought I hadn't been wearing it my whole life so I can imagine your experience was even more intense. I hope you get many more opportunities like that one Smiley

    I was never forced to wear it, but I can imagine it must feel so amazing to actually feel the wind in your hair for a change. Congrats Hanan! Afro

    Hanan, read about the origin of the scarf/hijab and you will be amazed that it is not really mentioned in the Quran. In the quran it only says cover your boobs not your hair. It says cover your pockets which meant your cleavage (, as that's where they used to put things.

    My wife never wore a scarf and we still live in a strict Muslim country. A couple of times she was told off by some Muslimas and asked to cover up, and she gave them a lecture aboutbthe hijab. Muslims have a bad habit of not reading nor researching.

    I encouraged her even before we came out to each other about our leaving religion. I always told her if the male hair was not a sexual thing as they say, why men have fashionable hair cuts and put loads of creams and gels and worry about their looks? Is it for men or for women they do it? If wor women, then they should equally put on a scarf, I said. If for men, then they should be stoned, as Gays are considered very sinful and punishable by death.

    Be free and fight for your right to uncover your hair. Read about the origins of head covering and you will be amazed, how miss lead Muslim women are.

    I have this liking for man who have messy medium long hair, and sometimes turn off if they cut their hair too short (well not always, but the point is hair of male might be a sexual thing too)

    I dunno what's it like to go without a hijab.....is it kinda like walking around the house with only your underwear on?  Because I sometimes walk around in my underwear and sleep naked...kinda like that liberating?
