    Dude.. your sitting (or standing) there, seemingly totally oblivious to her except

    Am I the only one here who doesn't smoke?

    I really care about my skin and hair and all that and don't want to age fast. Plus many of my family members died form cancer... lung cancer being common so I'm just scared of that as well.

    But in the end, we will all die. I might die tonight, I don't know. If Allah wills it. Wink

    Darkeyed... in four days is the two year anniversary of my best friend dying...
    from lung cancer :(  before she was hospitalized, i went back east to stay with
    her for a couple of months to help her out... It was horrible!!   As soon as i returned
    home I went straight to my doctor cuz i wanted to quit ASAP.  Dammit all, i
    couldnt quit for nothing!

    I hate smoking...I see nothing wrong on smoking once a day but there are freakin chimneys out there!
    Weed is good with some nice cold Mike's Hard Lemonade...but smoking is horrible.
    Did you guys hear about that fake cigarette thingy, that u smoke, but dont smoke?  I'ts a plastic cigaraette stick that let's out smoke but not cigarette smoke so there's no smell but still the nicotine.

    Great idea for a thread BD - I was hoping to start one a while back but it didnt seem like any smokers were interested on me starting a dedicated thread on the forum to help give it up.

    As a smoker who's been smoking since he was 17, I have given up on the number of times Ive tried to give up - ive tried everything, nictotine gum, hypnotherapy from a Harley St doctor, patches, herbal cigarettes, Zyban and good old fashioned will power etc.  Nothings worked to date.

    I promised the missus if I couldnt give up this time then I was gonna use Champix.  But I would prefer to avoid putting another drug through my body, for something I believe I should be able to do by willpower alone.  And I am so determined not to fail, yet that is what happens each time I try.

    So I am going to give it one last go before I take the risks of the side effects of Champix

    BD - if you want to set a start date, (how about this Monday??) then I'll join you in your crusade - we could use this thread as a diary. 

    Any other smokers please come & join us too, the more the merrier!

    I saw my grandmother pass away right in front of me when I was really young. She died from lung cancer. She used to smoke.

    There was an imam there making dua'a and all that while she was just lying in her bed, alive, unable to speak or breathe properly. It didn't work. What a bunch of fucking false hope for a little kid...

    Sure thing we can start on Monday. Not smoking cigarettes.

    But snus, nico gum and anything else should be OK?

    To be honest if you're gonna quit cold turkey you should start now. But I'm cool with Monday, I haven't smoked since yesterday. But I think I might buy snus or something. I'm getting cold sweats and can't focus on anything else Grin

    I really have had enough of it - I really dont want to be in the position of getting a horrible cancer, and telling myself I told you so, just before I go in for chemotherapy!

    Ive got to go to a bbq tomorrow and risky starting now if there's gonna be booze around.  So will go for Monday.  Fingers crossed or its champix for me.

    You have to understand it was only one time. I'm not demanding generally. In fact I would never have asked her to give me a BJ while I was smoking hadn't she specifically asked REPEATEDLY if I had a fantasy. Oh and I made sure that I show my appreciation.

    But on the cereal side, I would like to give you some scary stories of relatives and friends who smoke/smoked....but maybe that wouldn't be a good idea...

    By the way, BD, I don't think cold turkey is such a good idea. OR, you can get a good jump start by taking a month vacation, travel far away so that it would be difficult to buy a pack...I don't know, like camping or something...

    But whatever your plan is, keep us, or your famiy and friends up date about your progress! Support definitely helps!

    Okay on a more serious note I heard that if you engage yourself in more physical activity (like increase your exercise), it increases your temptation to quit smoking.

    I don't know. I don't know if that's useful or not. That might be a stupid piece of advice, I'm not entirely sure on the subject.

    I'm not aware because I never smoke in my life.
