You might think emo music lacks artistic quality, but it gets many depressed teenagers through their day.

Teenage depression might be something cliche and people like making fun of, but it's a real issue as far as the people involved are concerned. Musicians I related to were there for me at times when I thought no one and nothing else was. They formed the beginnings of my passion for music.

Fuck I hate today's music so much. Why do all of today's "rockers" sound like whiney bitches? Oh, right, because they are!

Fuck you man, I love My Chemical Romance.

I was an immensely depressed teen - one of the things that helped me turn to Islam. I listened to a shit load of Linkin Park and Staind in my time. Trust me I know. Did it help me get through? Yah, maybe. I guess they did eventually lead me to better quality forms of music too.

I still think it was pretty dumb and silly though.  Tongue

    the imam
    was talking
    about something
    very important
but I was a bit drunk
    sitting
    amongst the congregation

    but there was some dog
    barking outside
    and some fucking
    EDL guys protesting
    making noise
    and the microphone
    the imam had
    was some
    second hand quality
    shit
    so his sermon
    was crass
    and scratchy.

    noise from
    all over the

    everyone had something to say
    but no one
    gave a shit
    about my hang over

I wandered lonely as a shroud...

    Thats it for now!

    Little Fly, Thy summer's play
My thoughtless hand has brushed away.

I too dance and drink, and sing,
Till some blind hand shall brush my wing.

Therefore I am a happy fly,
If I live or if I die.

There once was a girl from Lahore
Who’d lie on a rug on the floor.
    In a manner uncanny
    She’d wiggle her fanny
And drain your balls dry to the core.

I wandered lonely as a shroud...

    Thats it for now!

    Flying high above the clouds
    Looking for love
This love that seems unable to find me
No matter how high or how low I glide
    My solitude always surrounds me
One day I will  reach the Sun
And find the love of Khayyam and Rumi

These things I see in you, they are not there, just in my head
Constructed out of projections of what we two once had
Just precious memories of something already dead.
They do no good, just hurt, hurt so bad..

So don't pride yourself with my desperation
Don't delude yourself, this is no love declaration
It's just mourning the one I used to love, the person you used to be
And sentimentality for glimpses of him in what you’ve now chosen to be.

And time will come, I’ll bury you, you'll see

I never written a poem before but I found it therapeutic to the self-imposed incarceration about my apostasy.

    Oh you who believe!

I have seen too much, so I disbelieve.

Too much pain, anger and hate which you can’t conceive.

You cry: ‘It’s all a test and the work of Satan’, oh how you’re deceived.

    Oh you who believe!

What makes Islam so special than any other creed?

What fruit did you expect to bear from an Apple’s seed?

You retort ‘it’s the truth’, oh how quick you’re to concede.

    Oh you who believe!

Where’s Allah when there are children to feed?

He’s got time to tag his tomatoes but when there’s a tornado he has disappeared?

You warn me of ‘the day of Judgement’, but we’re just food for the weed.

    Oh you who believe!

Your Prophet slept with slaves and a kid. Can’t you read?

He beheaded boys and threw stones at women, and you want him to lead?

You rebuff: ‘he was a man of his time’, yet you’re commanded to follow his deed?

    Oh you who believe!

My intentions are clean as there are no prizes to win.

I just want you to see what I have seen.

Soon, oh you who believe, you’ll disbelieve!

emo berbs will share some of her poetry.  It's shit poetry, I post it mostly for the LULz these days since I'm less emo these days even on a bad day.  *should be noted some of this emo shit is from the first half of last year and the years before that.  Cheesy

    Quote
    You are nothing,
    You are no one,
    You are worthless,
    My mantra every night,
    Every word inflicting damage,
    Every word so wholly right.

    You are fat,
    You are stupid,
    You are useless,
    I drink with no reprieve,
    I drown away the madness,
For the past and the pain, I grieve.

    They are liars,
    They are laughing,
    They don’t want you,
    And who would? I agree,
    Why would someone want,
When I don’t even want me?

    I am nothing,
    I am no one,
    I am worthless.

    Quote
You just want to fuck, you know you do,
But you won’t say it like that, will you?
You’ll spin me fancy poetic lies,
When truth is love lives in your flies.

You’ll hold me close and name me friend,
When all the while, it’s all pretend.
A rolling tumble, in Marlowe’s field,
You’ll lie and lie to make me yield.

Then when your done, you’ll act confused,
But I will be left, discarded and used.
Your empty words, will linger inside,
With nothing to say, to assuage my pride.

I hope it offends, that I will say no,
Take your lame seed, hop to it and go.
I have far better things, to do with my time,
Than give you a chance, to commit that crime.

    Quote
    I have never felt emptier,
    Nor my soul so dead,
    My stomach is empty,
    And my heart is lead.

    My control does not falter,
    Not even to taste,
The food you force on me,
    The calories you waste.

    Stop trying to feed me,
    Stop pretending to care,
    Stop showing horror,
As I lose all my hair.

    You call me skinny,
But all I see is fat,
    Skinny equals happy,
    And I am not that.

    I am hollow and empty,
I know my bones are on show,
    But the emptiness feeds me,
Keeps me high, gives me glow.

    Eating torments me,
    Why can’t you see?
That to fade away to nothing,
Is what I want for me.

    You give me medicine,
    And tell me I’m ill,
You force it all on me,
    The “life saving pills”

I put them in my mouth,
    I pretend to swallow,
    But this stomach stays empty,
    And I remain hollow.

    You tear your hair out,
    And tell me to eat,
    “Please just try this,
    Just let your heart beat.”

But why would I do that?
    I don’t want to try.
I just want to curl up here,
    And starve till I die.

    I’m empty, I’m aching,
    I’ve just had enough,
    I’m done even trying,
    I was never that tough.

I'm not sure, I may have posted a few of these before, but years ago.

    Quote
I used to dream of kisses,
And a love beneath the sky.
I used to believe in hope,
It was the only reason why.

I used to care for people,
I used to give them trust.
But now what I once gave,
    Has rotted through with rust.

    Replaced with disillusionment,
    Replaced with bitter pain.
As I offered up my empty body,
    To be used once again.

    I simply requested a moment,
A second in which to smile.
A minute or two of tenderness,
That could last a little while.

A heart not afraid of living,
    A glow upon my face.
A love to call my own,
And keep me in this place.

Do you not know my solitude,
Or the hurt I feel inside?
The tears that stain my face,
And the bruised and broken pride.

    Was I someone so sadistic,
    In a long forgotten life?
That the life I have right now,
Should be so full of strife?

I only asked to be happy,
To want to live each day.
Not sit and cry each second,
    And wish my life away.

I try to harden my heart,
Just to fit into this place.
But the hurt that this has caused me,
    My tears can not erase.

    Used, abused, discarded,
    My broken record of time.
The love that I have longed for,
    Seems like such a crime.

You say “I’m watching over you”,
“Look to your lord, he cares”.
Yet when I ached so deep inside,
Lord knows, you were not there.

Your heavens are hollow and empty,
Halls bare to match my heart.
But we get up, keep going forward,
Because we always have to start.

Kicked down, get up, move forward,
    The cycle keeps on going.
    The suffering keeps coming,
And the pain keeps on flowing.

I used to dream of kisses,
And a love beneath the sky.
But foolish I will never be,
To dream of such a lie.

Speaking of emo stuff, here's a poem I wrote about a month or two ago. I'd never been much of a writer, and never really wrote any poetry, but I suddenly had the urge to, and this was the result.  Tongue

    Across the grey September sky
Ice cold breath, a chilly sigh
    A love undone
    A song unsung
A child left to wonder why
Were you not there to see her cry?
To see the sadness in her eyes?
    All alone
    She’d sit and wait
    Surrender herself
    to luck and fate
    Until the day
    She realized
    She was not the one
    to be despised
    For what was yours
    is yours no longer
    Your cruel hearted games
    Only make her stronger
And when that time has come around
When you are the one who is down
Your lying name having been disgraced
Who shall you turn to face?
    What will there be
    for you to say
    to the child you left
    that chilly day?

I wept, For a stream of love whose source dried up
I wept, For a firebrand that consumed itself
I wept, For a widowed moon That witnessed the senses flare.
I wept for the lotus tree of the soul Whose fragrance penetrates the cycle of dryness.
I wept profusely For each bleeding part
I wept,  For a song that followed the funeral of my lightning
I wept long until I gave up seeking forgiveness from my tears
Look at me!Am I not the eyelid squeezing the grapevine?
