I didn't write the article Hassan. Any points therein you'd like to take issue with? BTW don't take my posting of this article as an implicit slur on your still-Muslim friends and relatives.

Taqiyya (dissimulation aka shamelessly lying to the enemies of Allah) is not just a Shia doctrine.

Taqiyya (dissimulation aka shamelessly lying to the enemies of Allah) is not just a Shia doctrine.

It IS a Shia doctrine to protect its members from being persecuted!

Dont play dumb with us DH! We have already explained why the 'Taqiyyah' argument against Muslims is full of shit!

Did you not read the beginning of the very article you posted??

    Quote
To explain the Arabic word TAQIYAH, Hughes Dictionary of Islam says, “Literally it means “Guarding oneself”. (It’s a) Shi’ah doctrine. A pious fraud whereby a Shi’ah Muslim believes he is justified in either smoothing down or in denying the peculiarities of his religious belief, in order to save himself from religious persecutions. A Shi’ah can, therefore, pass himself off as a Sunni to escape persecution.”

“The Shi’ah traditionalists relate that certain persons inquired of the Imam Sadiq if the Prophet had ever practiced taqiyyah or “religious dissimulations”, and the  Imam replied:”Not after this verse was sent down to the Prophet, namely Surah v71: ‘O thou Apostle! Publish the whole of what has been revealed to those from thy Lord; if thou do it not, thou, thou hast not preached His message, and God will not defend thee from the wicked men; for God guides not the unbelieving people. When the Most High became surety for the Prophet against harm, then he no longer dissimulated, although before this revelation appeared he had occasionally done so.”[1]

Imam Sadiq (Jafar al-Sadiq ibn Muhammad al-Baqar) was the 6th Shia Imam bear in mind.

And then this Babu Susilan (who the fuck is he?? Some Hindu reactionary?) comes and writes this fuck up with his own stupidity, polemic nonsense and generalisation without even thinking!:
    Quote
“Under the Islamic concept of Al-Takkeya, it is legitimate for Muslims to lie, cheat, murder, deceive and violate non-Muslims. According to Takkeya, Muslims are sanctioned to communicate with fake sincerity. In reality, they may have just the opposite agenda in their hearts. It is clear that Islam permits the Muslims to lie anytime, anywhere to promote the cause of Islam."

and then the whole shit takes off in the Islam Watch article upside down. wacko

DH - can you concede that Taqqiyah applies only to 15% of muslims worldwide i.e. shias?

In which case ought you better address taqqiyah statement towards shias rather than sunnis? Particularly when sunnis see shias as renegades!

Even that's not fair, IsLame - since the Shi'ah concept is not the sort of 'all-embracing-lying to Kuffar to conquer the world' - meaning that DH gives it.

It is a doctrine firmly rooted in the Koran and other basic Islamic texts.

Here we go again. If, after a jihad attack, a sunni "Muslim spokesman" appears on the media to tell the Kuffar victims (rather than those who need telling) things like "this atrocity does not represent true Islam which is a religion of peace" and invokes the Koran to back up this claim with such famous misquotes as "killing an innocent person is like killing all humanity" then he is propagating falsehoods. We have two options:

    a) he is being deliberately deceitful
    b) he is innocently parrotting the deliberate lies of Muslim deceit mongers that he has read or been fed and genuinely believes.

Now does anybody want to explain why (a) is not a possibility and why (b) is more likely than (a)? The UK Channel4 "Undercover Mosque" program was mentioned on the thread on Scientology. This documentary demonstrates that sunni Muslims are prepared to present themselves as  proponents of "multifaith dialog" and other vacuous lovey dovey abstractions to the Kafirs' faces whilst espousing something rather less pleasant among themselves:

"You are in a situation in which you have to live like a state within a state, until you take over. But until this happens, you have to preach, until you become such a force that the people they just submit to you, hands up, until you become strong enough to take over"

Or perhaps this was said by an actor hired by Islamophobes to make Islam and Muslims look bad!

Your feeble attempt at sarcasm does possess a smidgen of the actual situation. People like Hasan are in a state of denial. They do not want to acknowledge that those still-Muslims they hold so dear are part and parcel of the same overarching movement as the "Islamists". They are lying to themselves and seeking to get non-Muslims to buy into the lie.

Here again you are resorting to such standard Islamic "debating" tactics as accusing your detractors of mental problems rather than seeking to intelligently tackle the points they raise.

No I don't. But there are clearly a considerable number of ostensible ex-Muslims here, like hasan, who still retain certain behavioral propensities from their days as fervent cult members - notably the tendency to "get personal" with people who express views they don't like but can't effectively counter through reasoned argument. FOR EXAMPLE

Your views get annihilated with reasoned argument every time you pop up here. When that happens, you spin theories about your interlocuter being a sleeping-cell Muslim apologist for Islam who is part of the problem, because they disagree with you. That's your style and operating system, and its as predictable as a dung beetle licking shit.
