That guy on youtube LearnQuranicArabic is funny
So, if "Farj" is some mystical way of saying "chastity" can you explain something to me?
in 66:12, how was it "breathed into"?
the feminine prnoun refers back to maryam. i.e we breathed into her . you will notice that the same words are used for the creation of Adam 15:29
I thought "fihi" (into it) was a 3rd person masculine singular object pronoun "into him", which would either mean that
A: "it" is Maryam's farj, or
B: The Quran is saying Maryam was a man.
15:29 is the perfect example, Allah breathed "into him" - fihi.
your right it is: there is a difference of opinion where this pronoun refers to . as you pointed out the opening of her sleeve ( Farj) is one such opinion. in other words this is where the angel Gabriel blew the soul and she immediately conceived. Some scholars believe it to refer to Jesus (as) i.e that the spirit was breathed into Jesus not into Maryam because She already had a soul.
The closest reference to Jesus is in 61:14 - 5 chapters earlier. As far as I know there is not a single reference in the Quran to Maryam's sleeve. So describing either of these as "it" is utterly vague and leaves MASSIVE room for improvement by naming the subject directly "We blew into JESUS..."
This would be an improvement, and I suspect you cannot accept the Quran can be improved. So, ruling out sleeves and Jesus for this reason, how is "it" not Maryam's guarded Farj?
I disagree with you. I believe that this is eloquence. Maraym guraded her chastity and the female prnoun refering back to Maraym was not even mentioned. had it been mentioned then people could interpret it as a physical act b/w the angel and Maryam.
What is eloquent about mentioning an unreferenced subject as "it"?
ahsanat - Guarded
farjaha - Her "farj" (farj being a masculine word)
fanafakhna - So we breathed fihi - Into it (a masculine object)
So our options are
1: fihi refers to the masculine object referred to 2 words previously
2: fihi refers to a male not named for 5 chapters
3: fihi refers to an object not named anywhere
You are saying it is 2 or 3 AND the Quran cannot be improved, is that right?
