    Finkelstein on Douglas

... and so on, and so forth with apologies for Islam ...
    http://www.normanfinkelstein.com/a-note-of-sanity/  .....

In that above FICKLESTUNT. COM article with all the apologies for Islam there is some truth..  it says
    Quote
About 100 miles south of Delhi, where I live, lie the ruins of the Mughal capital, Fateh-pur Sikri. This was built by the Emperor Akbar at the end of the 16th century. Here Akbar would listen carefully as philosophers, mystics and holy men of different faiths debated the merits of their different beliefs in what is the earliest known experiment in formal inter-religious dialogue.

Representatives of Muslims (Sunni and Shi’ite as well as Sufi), Hindus (followers of Shiva and Vishnu as well as Hindu atheists), Christians, Jains, Jews, Buddhists and Zoroastrians came together to discuss where they differed and how they could live together.

Muslim rulers are not usually thought of in the West as standard-bearers of freedom of thought; but Akbar was obsessed with exploring the issues of religious truth, and with as open a mind as possible, declaring: “No man should be interfered with on account of religion, and anyone is to be allowed to go over to any religion that pleases him.” He also argued for what he called “the pursuit of reason” rather than “reliance on the marshy land of tradition”.

That is indeed a fact but one must realize here,  That kid king Akbar playing  all that goody goody Haram, harem games with hindus sowed the seeds to destroy REAL ISLAM.. Muhammad's Islam.. and that is the reason why Moguls/Muslim rulers could NOT  really  force  all of the people of subcontinent in to Muslims unlike Persia..  Also hindus and Sikhs fought with their tooth and nail  the Islamic onslaught on Indian subcontinent

and there is an error in  that article
    Quote
We have much to be proud of in the West; but it is in the arrogant and forceful assertion of the superiority of western values that we have consistently undermined

That word "Western Values" should be changed to "Bush-Cheney War mongering values"

Do not let silence become your legacy.. Question everything
I renounced my faith to become a kafir,
the beloved betrayed me and turned in to  a Muslim

I mean to say apologist in the sense that goodness of Islam can be traced back in history - but how it applies and exists today is a lot different to the moderate majorities where we have issues due to a broad interpretation evangelized by the likes of Zakir Naik and political Islam.

Btw. another reason to be pro Israel is that:

•Israel has ~140 scientists and engineers per 10,000 of population, nearly twice as many as the US, and more than twice as many as Japan.
•Israel produces more scientific papers per capita than any other nation - 109 per 10,000 people.
•The percentage of Israeli citizens who are university graduates is among the highest in the world.
•Israel is second only to the US in the number of patent applications filed.
•Israel has more than 140 companies listed on NASDAQ - only the U.S. has more.
•The Stent was invented in Israel.
•It is estimated that some 15% of all communications equipment sold around the world comes from Israel.
•The Pentium MMX Chip technology was designed in Israel at Intel.
•Both the Pentium-4 microprocessor and the Centrino processor were entirely designed, developed and produced in Israel.
•Israeli scientists developed the first fully computerized, no-radiation, diagnostic instrumentation for breast cancer
•Israel's Given-Imaging developed the first ingestible video camera, so small it fits inside a pill. Used to view the small intestine from the inside, cancer and digestive disorders.
•The Firewall was invented in Israel
•Drip Irrigation was invented in Israel
    •ICQ was invented in Israel
•Both of the leading drugs used to treat MS patients, beta-interferon and copaxone, were invented in Israel.

I am for both and for neither. I think palestinians and Israelis should happily agree on a peaceful consensus and live together. It's not impossible, all they got to do is put the past in the past, their religious differences aside, and shake hands.

Exactly that's why I didn't vote. It's Jewish idiots vs. Muslim idiots, and both parties have strong arguments and a lot of BS arguments. The problem started with the Balfour declaration in WW1.

    thank you.

both sides are moronic. both believe god gave them the right to the land. Its all BS. the only reason palestinians appear heretical is because they have less money.

any moron that says that israel should be allowed based on its current progress in the science is blinded. Nazi's contributed a lot to modern science why dont we use their methods to find treatments?

Religion has a part to play and unfortunately religious influence has increased because of the rise of Islamic and right wing groups but its still more of a racism thing than a religious thing. Are the Arab Christians of Bethlehem who live under the same conditions as other Arabs "Muslim idiots" ? What about the Christian mayors of places like Nazareth and Ramallah? And don't forget a lot of the top PLO leaders who led the resistance against Israel were Christian and not jihadis.

i support palestine, and always will. Because isreal are commiting atrosities far worse than what happened in the halocaust, but said that i think that the new generations in isreal should stay as they might have a sense of nationality but they shouldnt keep taking land off the innocent palestinians and should come to a comprimise. Isreal should also be punished for what they have done but thats only the government i'm talking about

Umm, "atrocities far worse than what happened in the Holocaust" is a gross exaggeration. I agree Israel goes over the top sometimes, and they should very definitely stop their expansionist policies, but saying what they are doing is worse than the Holocaust simply isn't a sensible assessment.

In my opinion both parties have good reasons and arguments for wanting 'their land' (back). But bombarding each other doesn't help anyone further.  I won't choose one of those parties, I think I would feel responsible for the horrors they do to the other party. Chosing a party is like supporting their war. I am Pro Peace.

    lol...  Afro

Mind you - you are forgetting one crucial point: God gave Palestine Israel to the Jews - no, wait, God just told me he didn't give it to the Jews - he actually gave it to the "Druze" - it was a bad line and they misheard him.

^  human rights court,  war criminal court etc

You can't punish a government in a court.
Only individuals that were representative of said government during a given time.
But, unless you're punishing a tyrant who had absolute power, you are not really punishing the government itself but just a symbol of it in the form of a few humans who, probably, are not entirely nor solely responsible.

^ pay compensation to victims or their relatives,  giving homes back to their owners etc

And, if a "government" pays compensation to somebody, it's the people themselves who end up paying for it.

What I am trying to criticize here is the notion that "governments" can be guilty of something and can be punished for something, without involving the people themselves.

Do not look directly at the operational end of the device.

You don't seriously think that if you only take Islam out of the equation, Israel would be a paradise of peace, equality and brotherhood between Arabs and Jews?

If you said take Islam, Judaism, Christianity and beliefs of racial superiority and God-given-rights - out of the equation - you would be nearer the mark.
