He kicked me off because I suppose he decided I had asked my question and that was the end of the need to have me online.

Sorry, for some reason I just didn't notice it.

The last I heard on the issue was Hamza said that he and I should get in touch mid-July to arrange it.  I emailed him an hour or two ago to ask if he meant

    1: Contact him mid-july
2: Contact him to set a chat date for mid-july

As for my own blogtv show I don't think it would be very interesting to watch.  I can't think of anyone I could invite to chat on there with me, what we would talk about etc.  I also think that the live interaction in the chat room can influence what would otherwise be a potentially open and honest chat as one wouldn't be able to help looking through the comments to gauge what you say next rather than just being yourself.

Do you think that maths appears to be a very useful language with which to describe the factual observations and predictions which we then validate?

Maths can be used to verify the hypothesized behaviour of phenomena but that does not mean that the pursuit of maths is verified in and of itself.

Indeed. Maths is a useful language for helping us to test if our perceptions of reality are false. I don't think we need to go any deeper than that really, other than to say that it has been a lot more useful than praying.

Hamza: Let's have a metaphysical discussion about whether or not God exists.
AronRa: I don't believe that there is any value in philosophy, all that matters is real data.

ARonRa should not be allowed to have a conversation when he misses the basic idea of the discussion. Then Hamza goes on and makes an extremely weak appeal to 'fine tuning'.

This is a really poor disucssion so far.

Yea I thought overall it was a poor discussion all the way around.

So once again I'm left with the classic Irish man's dilemma, do I eat the potato or do I let it ferment so I can drink it later?

I have to give credit to Hamza "first and foremost" Tzortzis for having the balls to participate in these debates.  Normally it's quite difficult to pin down dawagandists and interrogate them properly.

Most of the dawahgandists prefer to stand on stage infront of mainly Muslim audience and spout their propaganda, followed by a brief Question-Answer session where then can say any old rubbish as their "Answer".

But of course, Hamza did get owned.  Naturally.

Hahaha, how can he possibly even claim to know that beheading is painless? Short? yes, painless? Who knows? Might smart a bit at first.

I can just imagine asking Mr Tortoise how many beheaded people he has asked in his survey, and the results. Perhaps he could provide a graph, bar chart, or pie chart?

It was brave of him to take part in the Magic Sandwich show. Was a bit like Daniel in the lions den (intended analogy there). They did tear him apart, especially on the apostatacy and hell bits, which no-one can justify. He did get a thoroughly deserved mauling on those points.

Surely for science to have any validity, it must be imperical. If something is measurable and is able to compared against other measurements, it needs to be quantified, for us to say that it exists and manifests itself. Thats where the maths comes in.

Does that make sense or am I looking at this too simply?

He is Greek, Just like Cat Stevens (Yusuf Islam).

He looks just like a Greek with an islamic beard to me, but he is rather dark skinned. Maybe its his olive skin AND beard which is giving you a slight subconcious bias?

Dont think we would dispute that Abdur Raheem Green looks like a western convert :-)

BTW does anyone else think that Abdur Raheem Green looks like David Cameron?

The next time I see Hamza I'll speak urdu to him and see if he understands.

On a side note, isn't it extraordinary that the author of a website called "The Inimitable Quran" which tries to highlight the unique literary and linguistic form of arabic in the Quran... doesn't even speak or understand arabic himselfwhistling2
