Other than that, I have no idea what you guys are talking about. I have not seen a single episode. My unrecognised OCD does not allow me to look at screens where nothing happens when you click on people.

I've finally gotten around to reading this, and I'm really enjoying it so far. I watched the first two seasons, then re-watched them before watching season 3.  The show is fantastic, and I'm happy to see how closely it followed the book so far. It's been awhile since I've found a story that develops such rich characters.

The only thing I regret is spoiling the books by watching the show first. Undecided I intend to read it all and stay ahead of the show from now on.

After watching the Red Wedding, I was about to come here and emotionally rant about Robb Stark indecisions that led to their family being slaughtered like Rams on Eid day but Naerys post has made me change my opinion on that. I'm just gutted about it and gutted that the growing love between Robb and the chick has ended tragically.

Oh, looks like Tywin Lannister is the actual king calling the shots. I find Lord Varys as an interesting character.

I was gutted too, but that is what is so awesome about GoTs, the people you are rooting for are still people who might die unexpectedly, which most books and movies never go for.

Anyone realise Red Wedding is actually based on a famous incident in Scotland the Black Dinner of 1440? Robb Stark's campaign to become King of the North was inspired by The Massacre of Glencoe from 1692.

I just finished the 3rd episode and immediately started over again. There were so many details and hints that I missed when watching it for the first time.
And I loooooved the soundtrack playing in season 1 episode 1 during the wedding of Danaerys and Khal Drogo:

I can't wait for the royal wedding.

If you're a Stark fan, I can't see how you would like Stannis. He basically killed Robb with the red woman's blood magic. And we know the magic is real because we saw Beric being brought back to life with it.

Roose Bolton killed Robb. Stannis had nothing to do with it. Besides, Robb should have bent the knee to the rightful king of Westeros, as his father did. He was a usurper, a good honourable one, but a usurper nonetheless.

I think I'd hate Stannis even if I weren't a Stark fan. His sense of entitlement annoys me. As if half the kings that rule are ever the rightful kings. As if his brother, Robert,  was even the rightful heir to the throne  -_-

"We must do our duty no...great or small we must do our duty"

Stannis is king by law. He see's it as his duty, not as a privilege. This is why he is best king. As for Robert's Rebellion, he says it was the hardest decision he ever made. However, his duty to his family outweighed his duty to the king.

Though admittedly, show Stannis is not as awesome as book Stannis. But this should change after this season and season 5 after he shows everyone why he is the Mannis.

They are speeding up the series a lot. The way this series looks on trailers it cover the 2nd last book in one go.

I'm only at the start, watching episode 4 as i write, i thought it would have lots of soft porn but it's not near as revealing as the gladiators series i saw.. Although i've never seen so many women breasts lol

Lot of cock in the Spartacus series'. Gods of the Arena and Vengeance were fun, liked them more than series one.

I'm actually curious about them speeding it up. George R.R. Martin will be under a lot of pressure to write more books unless they decide to go their own way after series whatever. It takes him so long to write them, that if he's under pressure to church a couple out I see the quality going so downhill.

Still, nothing really stopping them from taking the series a different direction.

Breaking Bad was fucking brilliant. I love how intense it was, how you watch the main character become the villain. Dexter was good though in all honesty I enjoyed it more after the first series.
