For those that are fasting... I received this email

As salaamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatahu,

I hope you are all keeping very well Smiley

Here is a lovely hadith for Day 1, and a few little tips to start afresh this month:

Hadith: Allah's Apostle said, "When the month of Ramadan starts, the gates of the heaven are opened and the gates of Hell are closed and the devils are chained." [Bukhari]
    Spiritual Detox for Ramadan:

    1. Keep free from eating hi calorie flesh (gossip) of others, no matter how juicy.

    2. Switch to fat free truths

    3. Avoid artificial tempers

    4. Do voice therapy through reciting the Qur'an

    5. Purify your eyes by crying in Du'a

    6. Do hand reflexology on tasbeeh

    7. Brighten your smile, using a miswaak

    8. Take the weight off your shoulders by paying your zakat/ and giving sadaqah

    9. Shrug off those extra sins by repenting

    Ramadan Mubarak!

Attached is a newsletter I put together at DB, with some great checklists and planners for us all to make the most of this month...

Do take it easy this month Smiley

So I'm "fasting" today (according to my family anyway).  So far I've drank a bottle of water at work so the "fast" is already broken.  However it's lunch time now and for some reason I can't bring myself to eat any food. Huh?

     Cheesy

I used to do that, in my teen years when in the back of my head I was still a muslim but I raved, drank etc.

I was smoking as I walked down the road, bumped into my dad (since my childrens home was not far from my parents at that time, temporary thing), who looked at me with horror and said, its not even that you are smoking that makes me so angry now, but that its ramadan.   Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

A few years ago I worked with some Muslim collegues. During Ramadan at noon they would sit with us in the room where we used to eat lunch, and fasted. Now I knew that they were just eating and smoking outdoors. So I used to make a nice lunch of bread with fresh bacon and a fried egg, because I knew they weren't hungry.... Cheesy

Trapped eh? Interesting choice of words...  How do you know it was his wife? It could have been his boyfriend under there for all you know?
