    Well, that was certainly quite interesting! Tongue

    Anyway, I think I'm probably not going to get into this. Being drunk was a nice experience and all, but it didn't strike me as something I'd want to do again and again. I don't like being absent-minded. And by the end of it, I grew to hate the taste of rum.

    Also, the vomiting was not nice Tongue Not nice at all.

    A few things I've learned:

    - It's very hard to get drunk after a good dinner
    - Take it slow -- when the alcohol kicked in, I lost all sense of motor coordination and it was really fucking hard to get to the toilet
    - I'm a really flirtatious drunk Tongue

    Also, I forgot to tell you guys, but I tried shisha for the first time yesterday too! It was a huge disappointment, though. First it made me dizzy, then I didn't feel anything at all, then I felt nauseous, then I felt so depressed, I seriously (not joking) wanted to go to a mosque and pray for forgiveness.

    So I'm probably not going to be a smoker either Tongue

    Also, I've learned that alcohol makes me quite religious. I recited Surat al-Fatiha and Surat al-Masad when it started to kick in, because I just felt like it.

    Probably not going to drink again this year. Maybe I'll try it again when I (hopefully) move to America for university. As for smoking, it's really unlikely that I'm going to do it again, and if I do, it's quite unlikely to turn into a habit. And I don't want to try things like midwaakh, weed, or hard drugs.

    All in all, last night was a very interesting and memorable night, and I do not regret it.

    When you first start out, you don't really know your limits so throwing up is common. But over time, your experience builds up. Plus difference types of alcohol affect people differently. Some people get really ill on rum etc but not vodka.

    I'm ashamed of myself. Last night I opened a new bottle of wine, had a small glass that lasted me for 2 hours... and then I went to bed because I was tired.... on a friday night. You know you're getting old when sleep becomes more important than booze or sex *weeps*

    It's about good conversation, companionship and the slow loosening of inhibitions. It's about beauty, joy and melancholy. (Pretentious, moi?)

    Puking means you've done it wrong. I puked up a month ago for the first time in ten years. Stupidly, I didn't eat properly. Never drink a lot on an empty stomach.

    ^Some good words there. I was pretty disappointed by alcohol at first - it tastes like crap and didn't get me... drunk. But when I've been out in the first two weeks of uni it's been a god-send. My awkwardness disappears, people become beautiful, dancing becomes easy, and music is so moving. Happy times. I can see why people like this alcohol stuff... and being properly drunk doesn't look all that fun... so I'm not particularly fussed.

    No headaches or anything, but the dizziness was fucking... diabolical. I puked again!

    And, David, I wanted to know what it's like to get drunk. It wasn't bad, actually. I felt like a kung-fu master.

    But yes, admittedly, I had those "Never again" moments.

    the best preventative solution to hangovers is to drink water till you can't drink anymore. you'll wake up to pee once or twice but it's a foolproof method. i've never been hungover.
