False analogy. Most people in the UK aren't muslims. Smiley

Seriously though, how exactly would you enforce a reservation? How would it work? Would ex-muslims be allowed to leave? How would you know? Would they have their own laws? Things to ponder.

`But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad.  You're mad.'
`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'

Well, the US government set up the reservations on areas known for poor soil, with liquor stores on the borders of them, and did not keep up the infrastructure or anything, as it was not US soil. So they became hopeless and worthless tracts of land full of alcoholics, until the casinos came. Probably a shariah reservation will not put up a casino.
Then, you take the children and ¨educate¨ them away from their families (See BIA and Russia), which cements loyalties elsewhere and creates a cultural divide by generations.
Lastly, you enforce your laws on the reservation, but deny the residents the same resources as those who live outside it. That way, people can get into trouble, but cannot climb out of it, neither legally nor economically. You can always use cultural heritage as an excuse for whatever necessary.

Don't let Hitler have the street.

Yes I agree with you guys too.
I support 100% an Islamic state, except I support it in THE UK. I support an Islamic state in that desert called the United Kingdom since there are already so many Islamists there.

Except it would not work Jila, the UK is not exotic and epic enough to appeal to these Western raised kids that want to escape their mundane lives. These idiots want to swim in the Euphrates like this American Jihadee:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuJIzddq2Ns

But I was not really serious Jila. I am really really hoping that Iraq pulls through this and I think they will. And I would support America sending any help that Iraq needs. It really pissed me off to hear that Obama is dragging his feet in sending air support to the Iraqis but at the same time wants to request the Senate for $500 million to support "moderate opposition" in Syria, this will inevitably only help extremists.

I was just exploring an idea, without having thought it through in detail. But I realize it was an insensitive thing to say, especially at a time like this. So I am sorry for that.

I'm not sure about the Syrian rebels. The moderate factions fight alongside Islamists who are very well-armed by Qatar/KSA. The West ditching the moderates would lead to the Islamists prevailing…but then they already are prevailing…It's a clusterfuck and there's no good choices at this stage. The U.S. should've either gone in Libya-style early in the conflict or stayed out of it completely. This half-assed support for the rebels isn't achieving much.

The Iraqi government is corrupt as hell and lacks legitimacy, even in Iraq. It's also highly sectarian and allied with Iran. ISIS is focused on the Iraq/Levant region atm, the U.S. getting too heavily involved could lead to ISIS launching terrorist attacks against the West -- something they currently have the capacity to do. Given these factors, I think Obama is right to be very cautious and to not go in guns blazing.

Well may be democarcy is not good  in that map you see above.,  having few Caliphs around along with ONE  SUPER CALIPHA IN THAT SAND LAND is better to that whole region.

Reverse dhimmi? Stay in the area and pay a tax. You get your laws under your own court system. If you leave to live in another area or refuse to pay the tax, you lose these privileges having broken the contact between you and the state.

you're not the only sad one. I felt pretty sad watching Cenk from tyt saying Iraq as we know it is over. I ended up having a few outbursts at isis supporting friends. But I know one thing, no one really cares about us. Not back then and not now. Watching my dick face prime minister saying "we stopped the boat people and we'll stop the terrorists", I can't see anyone who really feels my sadness besides my few Iraqi friends.

sorry tonyt, you should say what you like, and allow me to be a little shit now and then.

Jihadists destroy mosques and shrines in Iraq

Baghdad (AFP) - Jihadists who overran Mosul last month have demolished ancient shrines and mosques in and around the historic northern Iraqi city, residents and social media posts said Saturday.

At least four shrines to Sunni Arab or Sufi figures have been demolished, while six Shiite mosques, or husseiniyahs, have also been destroyed, across militant-held parts of northern Nineveh province, of which Mosul is the capital.

NOW WITH A COMMENT FROM THE ARTICLE Smiley

    Carlos Chuchwaletz 3 hours ago
I recall at the beginning of the Iraq invasion a decade ago, there was some slight damage damage to a few roof tiles of a mosque in Basra, blamed by Muslims on our troops, while fighting the Mehdi army in the nearby cemetery.

We fixed the damage. The whole Muslim world was enraged by this "desecration" of the holy site. Ready for jihad against all infidels, fatwas issued, explosive vests put on, violent clashes erupting - all around the world. Thousands were killed for this no-event by enraged Muslim mobs.

Nowadays, Islamists routinely completely destroy mosques, tombs of Islamic prophets, and countless priceless historical sites and artifacts. Yet, there is no outrage in the Muslim world at all... I guess, killing and destroying done by Islamists in name of Islam is OK...

Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of Islamist militant group Isis, has called on Muslims to obey him, in his first video sermon. Baghdadi has been appointed caliph by the jihadist group, which has seized large swathes of Iraq and Syria.

The video appears to have been filmed on Friday during a sermon at the Al-Nouri Mosque in Mosul, northern Iraq. The release of the video comes amid rumours that Baghdadi was killed or injured in an attack.

this is a request for everyone in this thread to keep the temperature of the discussion reasonable and not get into flaming.

Lets keep rhetoric controlled and calm and remember the human cost of what is happening here, and the many innocent people on the ground suffering and who will suffer even if it involves people we dislike (jihadis) getting opposed militarily.

I find it odd that Isis seem to have come from nowhere so quickly and with such weaponry such as rocket launchers and a scud missile and appear to be well financed and professionally organised. Where did they get all those black uniforms? They are not like Jabhatunusra who seem like amateurs in comparison. Look at that video. This is not a ramshackle gang with a mobile phone video recorder in their hand. This is done very professionally.

It's really unsettling how many people are just blindly jumping on board now that they've pulled out the caliph title. A lot of them seem to be young Muslims who have no real idea of what is going on, but are just starry-eyed about the idea of the resurrection of the caliphate and seeing it in their lifetime. Any old guy would do.

Adey5.. This is 2014., this is not 7th century, 17th century and not even 1970s or 1997 Osama Fuhrer.,

People who have power and have resources USE THESE IDIOTS  as they are nothing but  tissue paper to clean the asses of those who are powerful and resourceful and  at the end these fools will go  in to the toilet bowl similar to tissue papers. What all can happen is on the way they kill another million or so  innocent women, children  old folks and they die..

That is all what is going to happen... Unless. unless they have power from people who can stand the scrutiny openly in public and answer the questions the face in the press.. Those who can do that have to give their caliph dream and their violent ways..

Other wise these rogues of Islam will be tissue papers in toilet bowls..
