The west makes Islam look it self in the mirror. And Islam does not like what it sees. We need to get Islam in a house of mirrors. It will break one mirror but it watch itself watch itself break that mirror. It won't be able to run away.

Its more complex and universal than just the west, although the locations of the most effective dissent will arise from ex Muslims doing what their birthright of citizens of countries like America, Britain, France etc etc empowers them to do.

I think this catches Islam off guard. All of a sudden, its not Islam screaming at other belief systems in terms that it is comfortable with. Essentially its one myth convinced of its own truthfulness screaming at another. That is Islam's engagement with the non Islamic other over the ages. Its he who screams, declares and fights longest, loudest in a certain space. Islam versus Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism, etc etc etc.

But when confronted by the condition of liberal secular modernity and democracy, Islam can't just shout and declare itself, meeting Christian opposition with ever louder declarations of its superiority over another religion full of its own flaws and myths. Its caught off guard.

Islam declares itself, and then liberal secular democracy, which is like a party, just shrugs its shoulders, laughs, and carries on with its conversations. Its like, yeah. LoLz, whatever. And this is infuriating to many Muslims, especially when this party starts to be so seductive to Muslims, who start questioning and rejecting Islam. And then infuriated by this, and infuriated by the indifference of this party, it screams and sulks and throws things about to draw attention to itself.

But ultimately, this is just going to make its absurdities and flaws and crudities even more apparent to everyone at the party. Islam is totally wrong footed.

The more Islam tries to impose itself in today's world, the more kinks in its armour are noticed by curious minds. The more it aggressively promotes itself, the more it inadvertently exposes in the same process.

The Dawah and Tableegh tactics, the violent Islamism, angry boycotts and protests, rioting, and (not surprisingly) more and more Pakistanis making an ass of themselves around the world on TV and the internet in their dire and desperate attempts to 'save Islam' makes me realise how the clock is ticking not just for Islam's but also Pakistan's future integrity and very existence!

Well as the chap in the book we are translating says Islam is so interwoven with the identity of Arabs and all the Muslim nations they simply cannot let it go without fearing that they lose themselves in the process. But again as he says they should not fear because a new identity will build itself in it's place.

I am talking about the Islamic World here. I don't see it happening.

I was also talking about the West & Islamic world too.

Remember the sahih hadith and the Quran state that homosexuals should be murdered.  Some states do this by toppling a brick wall on them, others hang in public via a large crane.  However in most states they dont, and thus are already contradicting the teachings.   I also see the largest disparity between the Islamic World & the Rest of the World on this issue, so it will come to the forefront relatively early I think.

Once homosexuals grow in coinfidence and feel comfortable with their identity, then they will also start parading the streets in those states, possibly even united by other liberal muslims then they will also force the dialogue to begin.

I just think we need to be realistic IsLame. That's all. Homosexuality is still a taboo is Arabia. Some countries have decriminalized it but social attitudes are still very negative.

just got this comment.. in two parts..

Don't respond to the question "are you an Arab?" My only Arab friend I have - and that renounced her religion was strapped, beaten and confined indoors by her father forever... she hasn't been out of her home in FIVE years.... because she renounced Islam...
My friend she hasn't been out of her home in FIVE years we only occasionally talk over the phone but she doesn't say much because her parents are watching while she talks to me, only one time I caught her on the phone alone - about four years ago and she told me what happened, all of this was because she renounced Islam... she has no computer, or anything to communicate with school mates or make her happy and that here in Montreal, not Afghanistan, Pakistan or Egypt from where her parents are originally from... sad isn't it?

That's child abuse. If this is in Montreal, then the authorities should be notified of the abuse this kid is suffering, I'm sure it is illegal for her parents to keep her locked up like that.

This was posted on my channel to the video about Hassan's story:

    Quote from: Islambruederschaft

    Translation:
    Quote
you are the best example of a murtad. and why he is a danger for the Islamic world. worse than a kafir. Remove your doubts (out of the way) and with Allah's permission you will come back to Islam. May Allah guide you. Write to us, we will clear your doubts.

I listened to the things he says in his videos on his channel (Islamic brotherhood). This guy advocates death for apostates (in an Islamic state) and Jihad, in order to implement Allah's laws in a land. Clearly a fanatic bigot and loony. It's disgusting.

I replied to his comments yesterday. Still no reply. Let's see what he will do.

Reading that sent chills down my spine. It sounds all too familiar to me.

The other thing is that its impossible to decry ex-Muslims as racists, or part of an 'Islamophobic' 'Orientalist' conspiracy to blah blah blah.

Of course, there might be some ex Muslims who go mad in reaction to staring into the abyss for so long, or have had such horrific experiences of their religion that they sometimes 'essentialise' Muslims en masse, rather than just criticising the tenets of the message of Islam and the dysfunction and intolerances that it creates.

But in all seriousness, what could be more terrifying to a Muslim than an articulate, cool speaking, rational, knowledgeable murtad who puts forth his criticisms of Islam in broad daylight? For appraisal by Muslim and non Muslims alike? No longer can the reflexive defensive shield of 'racist' or 'Islamophobe' be used as it so often is. They are forced to account for Islam, and Islam is put on the back foot like it never has been before. And people learn the truth about it. The madness and darkness comes to be plain for all to see.

Think of it all like the tale of the Emperors New Clothes. Murtads are the little boy, who points out that the Emperor is naked, and by doing so, the whole court of the king is awoken from its trance and denial to see the fat emperor in all his naked ridiculousness.

Except that the boy can get killed, traduced, spat at, and is the bravest on earth, as all ex-Muslims are - the bravest of all dissenters.

Islam is the child who wears a scary costume and goes around scaring other children because it enjoys seeing others getting scared alot but when it takes a look at the reflection of itself, it is much more scared than anyone else.
