    actually mean 'deceiver' as in 'liar' in the context? I know different translations have taken it different ways, so I was just wondering what was the most correct translation, and also how scholars interpret it? (not necessarily the same).



    It literally means plotter/planner and is saying that those who plot/plan against Allah - well Allah can kick their ass when it comes to plotting and planning lol..

    It's up to you how you want to see that - obviously Muslims will say it doesn't mean God is a Liar - those who see only evil in Islam will say it does.

    Personally I think it simply means what it says and that Muhammad was just saying no matter how clever u think u r - God is more clever than you.

    Stupid really coz if he is an all-knowing and all-seeing god then that is surely a given  grin12

    It doesn't matter how you spin it - your God is immoral - he kills babies.

    Or if you want to argue they were evil - then he creates evil babies and then kills them for being the way he created them.

    Your God is not only immoral but he is insane.

    I guess that's why anyone who takes the Bible literally is off their rocker.

    God CANNOT lie....but Allah CAN. He admitted it. He said he is the greatest of liars (deceivers). So, how one believe ANYTHING he says? What else is he lying about? Paradise? He has no such place as paradise. But God has a place appointed for him...I'm  sure it is a place God created specifically for the "best of liars".

    It doesn't say "Best of liars" actually - but I agree that God seems to have no problem in deceiving in the Qur'an.

    Do you know that Muslims say the exact same thing.

    What makes the nasty bits in the Bible that human reason cannot understand any more true than the nasty bits in the Qur'an that human reason cannot understand?

    Don't you see how you dismiss things in the Qur'an because they are immoral and do not stand up to reason and logic - YET you accept things in the Bible that are immoral and do not stand up to reason and logic.

    Can't you see the contradiction?

    Can't you see that you have to be consistent?

    Either accept all immoral, irrational bullshit on faith or reject it all because it is immoral and does not stand up to reason and logic.
