How is it even possible to eat a blue steak lol, its pretty much raw!!
Some chefs leave it as it is albeit running a naked candle flame under it. I've started to enjoy my meat more rare, it's juicy!
We opted against Jamie's Italian for anniversary dinner and went to Strada instead. Absolutely delicious. I forgot my camera so didn't take photo's but this is what we had:
Starters: I had
Gnocchi alla Bava- Potato gnocchi in a Fontina Valdostana cheese, white wine & cream sauce with fresh oregano
&
James' had
Gamberoni- Sautéed king prawns, garlic, white wine, chilli & lemon butter with ciabatta.
The gnocchi was extremely yummy and light- no stodge. James enjoyed his prawns whole, pulling off the shell- they smelt very fresh and had a kick of chilli in the sauce they came with.
Mains: I had
Saltimbocca di Maiale- Fillet of pork with sage and Parma ham with potato purée, green beans and a white wine, sage & butter sauce
&
James had
Rigatoni Speck e Gorgonzola- Gorgonzola, grana padano & cream sauce, finished with northern Italian smoked mountain ham and rocket.
The portions were generous. If i hadn't had a starter I would have been able to finish it- the pork was very tender. Delicious.
It's not the cheapest place to eat but definately worth it- you're going to be guaranteed yumminess.
