Actually last Ramadan, I did forgot myself and you won't believe where!!!! In the market.

I saw beautiful dates displayed nicely in a straw basket, and boy do I love dates!? That market always allowed people to taste before buying.... so there goes RIBS picking up one and looks at it and marvel at its wholly tastefulness and gulp gulp it goes in his mouth and start chewing.... mind you it was at noon and the market was very busy ! All I can hear was screams and people pointing at me and says: Hey you don't eat don't eat... spit it out, have you forgotten it is Ramadan? Of course I reluctantly spit it out as I really forgot that I was out. Everybody started laughing and saying things like.... It was the Angels who fed you, but don't forget to compensate for this day!!!

just say you almost fainted and nearly died, and dont think its in your best interests to fast again

Tough luck. Since I have been a regular faster since the age of 8 and can handle the starvation.  Mom will call my bluff and I'll be exposed, despite knowing my criticism and negative attitude towards religion which they insist is 'just a phase' Roll Eyes Cheesy

NB: For those of you that are fasting and eating in secret.

I remember a good excuse that I used that always worked, if I accidently got caught eating/drinking.  "Whoops, I forgot I was fasting". My mum always used to say "its easy to do, be careful"

Yeah right, my mom would never swallow that tbh.
I have been fasting since i was 10

When I ate on the sly today during my lunchbreak, I was looking over my shoulder big time.  I really wouldn't have had any excuse if I got caught by a family member.

I was doing the same thing, and I was eating a packet of haram southern fried chicken bites! So I would have needed 2 excuses!

I'd forgotten that meat needs to be halal! My (muslim) family haven't eaten halal meat in the UK since 2003. We just got by on Qaradhawi's advice which stated that in the UK they are Christian and they chop heads off anyway so the method is halal even though they don't say bismallah, because Muslims are allowed to eat people of the book's meat.

Anyway, sorry to hear about all the people out there who have to fast or eat on the sly, my mum works most of the day so I can eat at home and my brother doesn't care that I'm an atheist. Plus I live in a completely non-Muslim disttrict and area so I don't have to worry about knowing anyone. So even though I'm annoyed with getting up in the morning, it could be worst.

This Ramadan is weird for me. The last two that I spent as a non-Muslim I still joined in to a certain extent. This Ramadan I'm just not interested. Was at my brothers when they were preparing Iftar and when it came and they were about to go off to pray - I said bye and left. Nipped into a shop on the way home and bought a Guinness four pack. I asked the Muslim guy serving me if he had broken his fast. He said he had he had and he hoped God would forgive his sins.

I told him but will we forgive God's sins?

A bit philosophical for a guy buying guiness don't you think?

I wonder how the Muslim server feels about selling alcohol, just about every Muslim knows the Hadith about the damned people who sell and serve alcohol.......but economic reasons come before God.

It's funny how Muslims and indeed some other religious people twist things around. My brother for example missed eating in the morning today and has a stomach ache, yet refused to break his fast. But, he hasn't prayed a single prayer since 2006. He knows prayer is more important and the punishment for missing prayer is far more tedious, yet, he won't break a fast even if his health is concerned but he can't be bothered to pray!

    Odd people.

so are there any fatwas on walking in dense fog and breathing really deep? i guess that's sort of cheating. but even regular air always has some humidity.

what if you stuck your face in front of a full blast humidifier? say right in front it? what about 6 inches away? what about a foot away? what about a yard away? a mile away? 100 light years away?

what if you are in a submarine? is that considered being submerged? if not, then i guess being in a full diving suit is fine too. or having a bag on your head.

what if you forced yourself to run like 20 miles in heat and then you'd have to drink something so you won't die of dehydration?

what if you go one inch over the distance limit where you can break your fast, but then immediately step back inside the perimeter? can you still break your fast? what if one foot is in and the other is out? do you have to crane your neck to the outside?

what if you are in the space shuttle orbiting earth every 90 min? does that mean you must abstain and then eat in 45-minute intervals?

what about submerging yourself in a mound of snow? is that the same as water?

please help me. i don't want to go to hell. do people have to fast in hell?

I hate eating at sehri!  I feel so stupid!  furious

I'm sat there dozy eyed eating my daal/chapatti thinking.... "Why the hell did I just wake up in the middle of my sleep for this!?!?!?!?"

Then I go back to sleep cursing Muhammad.

Tell me about it, it messed up my sleep and messing up my life too. i stay up and eat then sleep and wake up around 3pm on average. Breaking up the day, now i can't focus on work, i havn't got any work done and i really really need to get background work done before starting uni again, for the project. Just want stability and comfort at home, is it too much to ask?!!? .... finmad
