Then why dont you just call yourself an agnostic?  Its sounds to me like you are looking for certainty, and if i am being honest then thats something you will probably never realise.

Whats wrong with just simply being a good person without a religion, and if God & heaven exist, then believing you will get there?  btw thats pretty much how I see things.

because im afraid that if i dont believe in a religion...when the time comes ill rot in hell and thats wat scares me

the concept of hell has always been something i was terrified of as a child...my mum would tell me if i dont pray im not a muslim and then ill go to hell fire

its always been sort of like a chain for me...it kept me from doing alot of the things i really wanted to growing up...i wanted to get my eyebrows done but the punishement for it scared me from doing it(and still today ive never gotten it done)

so ya i feel like if i dont have a religion im destined for hell fire

Religions are famous for programing in fear of hell based on some wild possibility.  Here's an amusing clip regarding Pascal's wager that ought to be considered in light of such arguments:

Yes, I found that part the hardest thing to shake off too - it took me years before I was comfortable with pronouncing to myself I was as an ex-muslim, and years to then become public about it.

I used to go round picking faults with Islam, and then also deny at the same time I was an ex-muslim 015

What difficulties do you currently have with Islam, rather than the not listening to prayers thing..  btw have you read the Quranic translation yet, if not, thats the first thing you should do...

Islame...my biggest issue with islam is the treatment of woman

no matter how much it claims to be liberating i dont see it as that

i do find it oppresive...why do us woman have to suffer and cover up just because men cant keep their hormons to themselves?

we shouldnt have to suffer for the weaknesses of men

Nessa, and how many times did you fear hell AS a believer?  Even AS a believer,
both in islam AND christianity, you can still wind up in eternal damnation.  So,
instead of being worried sick about it (like I did for wayyy too many years),
allow yourself to research, question, both seriously, and enjoy a laugh along
the way, and when the time is right, make your choices.  You are not going
to be "damned" for having a need to know anything Smiley  As an old american
expression goes, "don't forget to stop and smell the roses along your way"

hell was always something that was thrown at me growing up every time i did something wrong

so i guess ive always feared eternal damnation

ever since i was a kid i wanted a dog...but i was told if i got a dog angels wont come into my house..but shaitan will and ill go to hell

i still want a dog tho i dont care

I know it is. When I said "Its 1 thing believing a 2000+ yr old man will return to earth" I was referring to the Islamic view of the 2nd coming.

I do realise that. I was simply stating that such comparisons are pointless; a pissing contest essentially.

recently ive started looking into christanity...but seriously its soo confusing i dont even know where to start:S

    Hi Nessa.

I think that its great that you are interested in Christianity - as long as you are willing to be honest to yourself and go all the way in your enquiry.

I gather that you are familiar with the concept of trinity?

God, son and the holy spirit that are one.

    Jesus died on the cross.

Do you understand the implications of that?

Btw if you fancy the idea of "a crucified 2000+ yr old zombie" than I suggest buying a shotgun and aiming for the head.

And while xianity didn't work for me, I would never say it doesn't work for

There is no hell. Its a construct that has been conceived and perpetuated to terrify you into submission to the writ of Islam and the men who control you.

You don't have to know anything about christianity in order to understand what I have written. All you have to do is apply some logic to it.

If god and son are one and if son died on the cross what does that mean?

lol but then what if there is a god and if i dont find him i go to hell??

If this is literally true what does it tell you about the nature of god?
