Yeah. Uncle Google translates it as 'fuck off' or 'fuck you'. Redditors say that isn't not as harsh as the English literal translation, and that it would be closer to 'bugger off' or 'sod off'.

I'd like to back up abu ali to the extent that while I totally support Charlie Hebdo's position on freedom of expression and have sometimes bought copies of the paper, it is not really to my (oh-so-British) taste. I do usually find the style of the cartoons ugly and crude. Because I live in a francophone part of the world, visit France regularly and have French friends, I understand the big difference of cultural traditions of France and Britain, so I know where Charlie Hebdo is coming from.

I'm having very intense debates over this.
Freedom of speech's purpose is to talk about controversial stuff, being insulted or claiming it insights hate is not a reason to silence people.
17 people have allegedly been killed, and this may sound selfish, but Palestinians are the most people suffering from media bias and and criticism of the jews in Europe is immediately silenced, I can say that speech control hurt the Palestinian cause, yet most of my friends are really arguing the need to ban criticism of Islam on the basis of hate speech, instead of recognizing hate speech laws are the laws preventing them from voicing their cause.
Another frustrating argument I keep hearing is, white people are racist because of colonialism and crusades, when replying that Islamic state expanded by war, and later Ottoman's have conducted some genocides in east Europe, Caucuses and Levant, they called me racist and that Islamic conquests were fair and just expansions and the occupied people loved them.
To me freedom of speech is sacred, if someone said something that caused unjust damage to other person, then he is liable for punitive damage in a court of law, subjects like holocaust denial for example can not be protected from history revisionism, what's the point? If their claim holds water then test it, Religions can NOT be protected from criticism, Islam is a very insulting religion to other religions (kill infidel, subjicate christians), calling people of the book donkeys carrying book, jews are monkeys and pigs, how can you claim mocking your religion offends you?
I don't like the direction the society is moving to, people are content to give up their freedoms for the sake of fake protection to their idols.

Tell them about the Almohad dynasty which had forced conversions, death or exile. There is also the Ghaznavids which were sent for the purpose of conquest from the beginning of the dynasty. Sacking of temple complex including the population which defended their temples. Heck the history of Islam and India is enough to turn me pale at the bloodshed.

Of course I wouldn't want to harm anyone or encourage anyone to, that goes without saying, I mean should I feel bad for expressing my dislike for the idea that I deserve to burn in hell forever? Real people do deserve protection, I agree but are supernatural supposedly omnipotent deities or absurd ideas to be immune from mockery? Is this what 21st Century society is saying?

I am not personally threatened or scared of it as its obviously an empty threat but I do find it insulting even though it amounts to nothing, and I don't want to ban it, but I would like to reserve the right to speak out and object to the sentiment without being told I am being rude.

I am very calm and nuanced with my objections, but sometimes I just wanna say "your god is a twat".

Of course I am not taking about denigrating whole societies of people. I mean I respect people for all sorts of reasons, but criticism of the god of the Torah is not being rude to Jews.

Criticizing a government is not the same as criticizing an ethnic or cultural group.
