Maybe a screened window at ground level?

And yeah, I know how you feel about losing your cats outside. Which is why Sterling wears a harness and leash if he feels like going out that badly.

I actually saw a cat leash/harness for the first time ever today, I swear I was like "Wow, what is this" like a kid with new candy.  I was tempted to buy it, but I would be the only person around here who is taking a cat for a walk.  I need to consider it some more.

    Quote
I'm more worried about coyotes, and pit bulls, than foxes, though we have plenty. Most of the cats around could give a fox a run for their money. But the coyotes will eat anything, and as I said, the loose pit bulls are nutty, they even tried to attack me. I told their owner if I saw them in my yard again I would take a 2x4 to them. he has already had a couple fines for letting them run loose around kids, and killing cats in peoples yards.

Yeah, that doesn't sound good, luckily there are none near by that I know of, still I would be devestated if something happened to her, she is a part of my family.

Inhale the good shit, exhale the bullshit.

    Me too.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I remain.

Wow, I am pleased with my bank I am tempted to go in and hug a cashier just to show my thanks.

Just over a week ago my 17yr old brother took my cash card and cleared my account out, I honestly didn't think my bank would be able to do anything because it was my own fault that he had access to the pin number, but I just checked my account balance and they reimbursed me the money  dance as part of their fraud protection.

It's so nice when you expect to be broke to find that you are not anymore.  grin12

    Uh... jawdrop

It's a good thing he isn't my brother, I would have had to take him out in the woods, and give him a brain adjustment. Then disown him for a few years.

    That's unacceptable.

Little ruffian!  There is no limit sometimes to what a teen is capable of, especially if they had difficulties during childhood.  I know that you are trying to be a good influence on him.  Hopefully he will remember what you have done for him down the line and show you the gratitude and appreciation you deserve.  Sorry he did that to you Berbs.

Mohammed ordered Kinana b. al Rabi' to be gruesomely tortured and then decapitated.  The 'prophet' then 'married' Kinana's wife, Safiyya.  He had her husband, her father and her people killed.

My step mother just called me to let me know that my half sister is having her 21st birthday party this friday, and that me and my kids are invited.

The only thing is she wants me to come dressed Islamic because of the people who will be there  Roll Eyes, she knows I am against it, yet for the sake of my sister who will want me there, and to not shame the family I should make an effort to conform for at least this important occasion.

I said I would think about it, but I think I'm going to call her later and tell her I'm not coming with that type of condition attached to it.  I want to see my half sister and show her I value her, let her know I care, but maybe I can see her another day without the same rules.

I think that´s a right decision, Berbs. It would confuse your children, to see you dressed all hijabed, too.

That's what I was thinking of, my kids are very confused about religion and god already, and their heritage, the last thing they need is mixed signals from me.

My 5yr old son asked me when we would start going church as a family?  Shocked

He is doing some religious education at school and went to visit a church as part of his learning, next thing I know he is telling me he wants to go and pray to god at church and that I should too.  Like I said, it's pretty mixed up for them now over here.

My eldest thinks he has to eventually be a muslim or his dad will get mad at him, my middle son wants to go church and my little girl hasn't any thoughts on it yet lol  wacko

Yes take them to Church... If they ever commit "sin", they will "cuff off their hands and pluck out their eyes" - as the therapist Jesus told us... I mean looking at women is committing adultery so you must puck your eyes out.  Roll Eyes

I told him that church was for people who believe in God, but that I personally didn't, he told me he did believe in God, and I asked him if he believed in fairies too, to which he said no, so I gave him the "look" and he said "Oh yeah, ok, maybe gods like a fairy then"  Cheesy

Well god isn't a fairy to you dio, but to me I don't actually believe in god, and I want to present how I see it to my kids too.  I've explained to him that god is real to other people and that when he grows up he will know better how to think about all of these things.

That if he wants to believe or doesn't it will be his decision, but the fairy analogy was to show him that he doesn't believe in fairies because he hasn't seen them, so why does he believe in god.

Maybe it was too deep a question to give a 5 going on 6yr old, but he seemed to understand my point well enough.

Saw 2 solicitors today, the first one was not suitable at all, I didn't like her one bit.  She barely listened to what I was saying and spent most of the time telling me to learn to accept that my ex will have contact.  That's not acceptable to me on any level.

She fortunately didn't have enough time to take on my case, but passed me over to her colleague who I warmed to.

She at least is prepared to fight against contact, she says we are going to apply to go to a higher court now because the judge seems unable to rule on this very complicated case.

Unfortunately I will be representing myself in court next week because the legal aid won't have been sorted in time for court next week.

that may be - obviously,  the German system works differently.
Here, judges decide on legal aid, and if you want to switch lawyer after having it, you have to get the judge to approve, otherwise, you risk paying the new lawyer yourself, that´s all.

From what I think she was saying her firm has to pay my old firm for the work recently, but her firm will be remimbursed via legal aid.  It's all so confusing.  wacko

Can I use any usb? cable/wire to transfer files from one PC to another?  I have a load of stuff on my old pc that I don't want to have to burn cd after cd to save, or fork out on a memory stick or two.

    Any hints?
