So it looks like it will be Germany vs Argentina in the next round. A repeat of 4 years ago at the very same stage.

Pakistan Zindabad? ya Pakistan sey Zinda bhaag?

Long Live Pakistan? Or run with your lives from Pakistan?

    Are this year's teams better?

    Both Argentina and Germany?

It will be a good game.

Argentina and Brazil are probably the only two countries in South America that I can consider moving to.

I think it's going to be Ghana all the way for me now though. They may not be the most talented team but they sure got heart. Plus, they're the only African nation left. They're playing for the continent now.

Well, actually, thrash is kind of a bit too strong. Beat more likely. But it's football, anything can happen, including more mistakes by the assistant referees as we have observed today.

The Germans can play as a team : keep cool under pressure, quality ball possession rather than quantity and a good dose of creativity. Tevez goal today was good but so was Özil's screamer against Ghana. Will be a good game. It's all to play for!

I am waiting for the excuses by the British team, they are always very good...

let's see, what ddn't we get for a while...

    sad

    a) it was the wrong type of grass!
    b) nobody told us we were a team!
    c) they didn't use the right fabic softener for our shirts,so they were itchy!
    d) we had run slowly and carefully. Government Health and safety rules, you know!
    e) the paint on the goal posts was too shiny, is was blinding us!
    f) it's the food, we all had problems with the food!
    g) our hotel did not have enough stars!
    h) we were traumatised by seeing poor people on the way to the stadium!
    g) they wouldn't give us the ball!
    h) their changing rooms were better, they had a pot plant!

HO, I don't care about the chances, I just want Argentina to win because you support Germany and you called my support for England a mental fallacy.  grin12

You know, maybe it is time for England, Wales, and Scotland to unify their FAs and Premier Leagues and make the Great Britain national football team.  whistling2

England's shittiest performance to date. Capello's job is on the line, ye i disagreed with some of his tactical decisions but truth is England got outplayed by an inexperienced, yet more diverse German side and the blame lies with their ability to play as a team and come up with ideas.

Lineker summed it up nicely - 'Say what you want about the Uruguayan linesman but England have no defence, literally.'

Argentina look like they're set on course for the 2010 final.

I like Argentina but they've already won it twice. Spain, Netherlands and Portugal are great teams who play beautiful football yet they haven't won it once.

Man, that's the game I wanted to watch and I can't :( Who friggin' cares about Brazil and Chile?
