Being attracted to junk food may be a preference but so is procrastination, wanting to shoplift, wanting to be be a serial killer, etc. Lots of people successfully quit their bad habits of overeating/not exercising, while there have been none or very few homosexuals who have been able to become straight.

    Irrelevant.
A homosexual can stop acting upon his/her sexual attraction without having to become straight.

And secondly, homosexuality has no disadvantages unlike being fat. Your genes don't have to die off, you can be a surrogate mother/father. And there are no other health problems with homosexuality if safe sex is practiced, compared to being fat.

    True enough.
But homosexuality has no advantages, unlike being fat.
If you are fat you could survive longer without food.
And you can resist better at lower temperatures.
And having a bigger mass can also help with physical defense.

You're beating a dead horse now. You know it. Just move on.

No, you are missing the main point.
I will make it very schematic for you because you seem easy to get lost in pointless details:

Person "X" likes some thing "A" that results in an effect "R".
This effect "R" involves NOBODY except X himself/herself and/or other like-minded people that agree to "A".
Person "Y" ridicules anyone that displays the result "R".

    My point is:
It's RIGHT to allow Y to make jokes about R.
It's WRONG to blame X for getting offended by those jokes.

    Your point is:
It's RIGHT to allow Y to make jokes about R.
It's RIGHT to blame X for getting offended by those jokes.

    My corollary:
Your logic is typical of A-phobic or R-phobic bullies.

Do not look directly at the operational end of the device.

On a side note, I also like to make dumb offensive jokes about general categories.
And I think fat people are kinda unattractive.

But since they are dumb offensive jokes, I like to be coherent and I do not blame THEM for GETTING OFFENDED.
Like, wtf, you must have some seriously lack of logic to criticize people for getting offended by blatantly offensive jokes.

Do not look directly at the operational end of the device.

If you are fat you could survive longer without food.
And you can resist better at lower temperatures.

No one lives in caves anymore so give me a break. Both of these points are irrelevant to modern life. On the other hand you are ignoring the major disadvantages of being fat while homosexuality has none, and the major advantages of not being fat such as being more attractive, being healthier, fitting in public transport a lot easier, not hating your body when you look in a mirror, being at lower risk of diabeties and heart attack, etc.

And having a bigger mass can also help with physical defense.

Cheesy. Its easy to run away from a fat person, get them tired, and then punch them. Being fat offers no real advantages in combat. If someone really wanted to get better at hand to hand combat, they should learn martial arts or do bodybuilding and get real muscle bulk which will also come with increased strength.

Person "X" likes some thing "A" that results in an effect "R".
This effect "R" involves NOBODY except X himself/herself and/or other like-minded people that agree to "A".
Person "Y" ridicules anyone that displays the result "R".

Standard dishonesty man. You're purposely ignoring the clear disadvantages of result R. You can apply this same criteria to other negative habits such as procrastination, and drugs. They don't involve anyone else, yet their result  is clearly negative on the person with these habits. So should everyone respect their negative habits in the same way they accept neutral preferences like homosexuality? HELL NO and nothing you say is gonna change my mind on this.

    Your point is:
It's RIGHT to allow Y to make jokes about R.
It's RIGHT to blame X for getting offended by those jokes.

Would it be right for a procrastinator to get offended when someone makes jokes about procrastinator? No, it is a negative attribute that should be criticized. The procrastinator should get off his butt and get his shit sorted, and same goes to the fat person. I'm not going to limit my freedom of speech to babysit your ego if you're too lazy to exercise or to fix your diet.

If they spent their energy exercising rather than bitching about 'sizeist jokes' for example, that would actually have a positive result in their life.

Why is calling another man a "little bitch" supposed to be insulting? Technically it might be calling him a little female dog, but the actual force behind the words is in the feminising nature of the insult. Using words like bitch or faggot against other men is supposed to damage perceptions of their masculinity. Being a "bitch" to a woman has connotations beyond simply saying someone is a puppet of another person, it attempts to leverage sexist sentiment if only for added emphasis.

Yup. Because being a woman is oooh so bad, it's really beneath men... no worse fate for a man than to be equated with gosh! a woman! handjob

I don't think you are helping Iblis by enabling his venting in this thread. You'd be doing him a favour by denying him the opportunity to tarnish his reputation further, imo.

You're getting it wrong, that's not how our minds work. Just like a lot of girls would get mad/upset if someone spoke to them on the phone and mistook them to be a guy based on their voice, similarly many (straight) guys wouldn't like being considered not man enough/not masculine enough.

    Fair objection.
The problem there is that there might not be anything like an absolute disadvantage.

    So let me reformulate:

Person "X" likes some thing "A" that results in an effect "R".
This effect "R" involves NOBODY except X himself/herself and/or other like-minded people that agree to "A".
Person "Y" considers either "A" or "R" as detrimental.
Person "Y" ridicules anyone that displays the result "R".

    My point is:
It's RIGHT to allow Y to make jokes about R.
It's WRONG to blame X for getting offended by those jokes.

Well last I checked women didn't go around using derogatory names for men as curse words to throw at each other.

It is about how your minds work, not all men's and not all straight men's. Most Muslim men's minds are programmed deeply to believe in the inferiority of women, thus being called a woman, a bitch, or any derogatory word is hurtful to your pride. It's rooted in sexism. Whether you choose to follow it or not shows your own capacity for sexism, but the influences are there. It's a matter of becoming conscious of those influences and then, if you truly are not a sexist or a misogynist, then choosing to consciously reject and disconnect from those sexist influences of the larger culture.

No, it can be objectively said that R is detrimental, its not subjective to anyone's opinion. Even Person X will most of the time agree that R is detrimental.

@allat , I think being called a bitch/sissy/pussy etc implies that a guy is weak, and that's an indirect challenge to him which is why most guys don't like being called these words/call others these words. I don't think its because we consider women to be inferior but I could be wrong.

liberated/@ali do you see then how that implies that women (which is what those words are supposed to hark back to) are considered weak by the same token?

    Ha!

How can something be "absolutely detrimental"?
What if one's goal are quite different from yours?

Do you automatically assume everyone prefers living a long life over living a short life while being lazy hedonists obsessed with gluttony?

Do you automatically assume everyone wants to be rich and have a work career instead of living a poor lifestyle but without any worries?

If X complains about either A or R then I agree that the whole onus is on themselves.
(For example, when fat people complain about being fat, or about most people not being attracted to fat)

But if X does not express any negative opinion about A or R it's rather arrogant to assume that you know what is positive or negative for their own life.

Sorry that makes ZERO sense. Calling a male a bitch implies that the person using this believes that being a woman is an insult.

Generally, no mentally sound person likes to suffer. If someone wants to suffer, they have other psychological issues they need to get sorted out.

    Aaah, Stereotyping, wunderbar.

So you're sure that all men are physically stronger than all women, is that right?

And even if they are, do you go around calling men, little boys? How about gimps? Anorexics? Cancer-ridden? All those are bodies that are weaker than most men.

So first of all, you presume all women are physically weaker and mentally stronger (whatever that means because ultimately it doesn't seem to count, your stereotype still trumps women's supposed physical weakness over their mental strength). Then you use that supposed weakness to use women as curse words for men.

Yeah you're not practicing sexism at all! Cheesy

Not to count the fact that there are people who don't care about staying fat.
So it's ridiculous to assume that they should be blamed for being offended by such jokes.

    Another fallacy.
You are assuming the right to decide what makes other suffers and what doesn't.

You are projecting your own point of view on everyone.
